-How I act-

Personality: Depends entirely on the person she's interacting with and what she can gain from the person. When meeting someone for the first time she usually takes a moment to study the person, testing their intelligence and wits, for she sees no point in wasting time on anyone who drones on endlessly and pointlessly. If it is someone who she has a fondness for, or is somehow beneficial to her, she will be the most charming, charismatic person imaginable, flirting, joking, and laughing. If it is anyone else, she will stay icy and distant, though depending on her mood, she may taunt the poor person endlessly, possibly even force a few illusions into their mind as a source for amusement.
However, should you gain her favor, affection, and trust, you will always have an ally in Elektra, for even though her personality varies like a winter storm, in harshness and gentleness, her loyalty stands unwavering.

Usual Mood: Generally content and at ease, satisfied with her accomplishments and life. Though she secretly yearns for something much more.

-History-

Your Story Please?

Growing up as the youngest of 7 children, Elektra lived a particularly privileged life as a princess. Given the age gaps between her and her siblings, by the time she was old enough for her formal education to begin, most of her siblings were already married off, or were involved in other affairs, such as the military. With no other children at Court, her parents showered her with attention and affection, a sharp contrast to the traditional, aloof and strict approach royal children of Caraklein, including Elektra's own siblings, were brought up by. They tutored her personally in politics and power, grooming her to be a Queen someday and went through great struggles to get her betrothed married to Prince Adrastos, heir to the throne of Secoelt, a Kingdom that has been Caraklein's enemy and rival for as far back as anyone can remember.

Like all maidens, Elektra was on the fence about marriage, both nervous and excited, but mostly the latter, looking forward to her bright future as Queen of Secoelt. She had met her betrothed on a few occassions, and the pair had proved to be compatible and wholly capable of ruling Secoelt, and of carrying out a successful marriage. In fact, if Elektra were to be brutally honest, she felt something far deeper than she should. In the end, her affection for Adrastos only served to harm her.

A few weeks before their official ceremony was to begin, he became ill with the deadly Plague (Secoeltians were firm in the belief that their Prince had contracted it during his time in Caraklein), and died shortly after. All negotiations were cut off soon after and Elektra was left, for the first time, without direction in her life,

Without the dissolution of treaties, growing tensions between Caraklein and Secoelt, and a desperate need for an ally forced King Strenver-Kagarkos and Queen Zoeycite to take a rather drastic choice, and marry their daughter off to a man far beneath their standards, and over 50 years older than her: the Duke of Atticus.

Not wanting to cause Elektra anymore pain than she was already in by informing her that she was to marry someone old enough to be her grandfather, Zoeycite and Strenver opted to take a more decietful route, telling Elektra that she was to marry the Duke's son, a man only 20 years older than she. However, it proved only to be a temporary fix as Elektra, still fantasizing about the perfect marriage she had been imagining since she was a child, had all her dreams annihilated the moment the truth was brought to light and her sapphire orbs landed on her new betrothed.

Shortly after their first encounter, the two soon married. Their wedding and the days that followed were the final nails on Elektra's crucified dreams of life. The Duke, in his highly advanced age, was withering away at a rapid rate and took pleasure in blaming others, particularly his new wife for his fading life. As he had only one surviving heir, he married Elektra not only because of her status, but also for reproductive purposes, and had absolutely no respect or affection for her at all, viewing her not as a woman of much higher status and born to titles much higher than him, but as a mistress, little more than a whore.

Bevause of his advanced age, it was a challenge for the old man to even think about producing more heirs, let alone actually doing the deed. The weeks droned on with Elektra's flat abdomen proving to all the results of Duke's endeavors for more heirs. Refusing to accept that his old age had made him impotent, the Duke instead blamed Elektra, calling her sterile and that she was nothing more than a useless whore. Often, especially during his manic-like episodes, he would strike her several times and, on occassion, even attempt to throttle her until a servant happened to come in at the right time and pry them apart.

The Duke's son Charlemagne was even worse, if such a thing were possible. Not only would he strike at her as well, but he would also harass her, often touch her inappropriately. There were even moments where he would barge into her Personal Quarters, unannounced and uninvited when he knew very well she was changing or still in bed.

Everyday, Elektra was forced to endure all the abuse the father and son could muster. Slowly, her heart hardened, her trust faded, and an unquenchable thirst for vengeance took over. She soon emersed herself into studying magic, particularly dark magic. She had studied it as a child, but had learned only the basics and necessary. She absorbed the books given to her (many were smuggled to her by bribed servants) as though they were her lifeline, for in a way, they were just that.

About three years after marrying the Duke, Elektra arranged a special, private dinner with him, charming him into absolute relaxation. As the Duke sat at the table, stuffing his face with veal, Elektra slipped a posion she had devised herself into his goblet. Seconds after swallowing, the Duke began experiencing extreme pain, his throat sealing completely as his entire body froze into a popsicle, then combusted, burning his still-living form into charcoaled flesh. After taking a moment to examine her handiwork and mock the Duke's mutilated body, Elektra set to work, adding the Duke's remains to a stew she had prepared earlier and then called Charlemagne for a private dinner.

The fool jumped at the chance for an opportunity and was at her side within minutes of receiving the invitation. She didn't have to use any of her charm to coerce Charlemagne into eating the food she had prepared. All she could do was smile and hold in her laughter as she watched the older man devour a stew containing his father's remains. After he had finished devouring his third helping, Elektra gleefully informed him of exactly what the "secret ingredient" in the stew was.

A look of pure horror crossed Charlemagne's features, but before he could properly respond, a dagger swiftly made it's way right through his throat, slashing his vocal chords, forcing blood to fill his throat, into his lungs, until he suffocated to death. An intense feeling of pure, overwhelming joy filled Elektra at the moment Charlemagne collapsed to the floor, his blood flowing everywhere, as his lifeless form gave only the occasional twitch. For several moments she stood, staring at her work of art and laughed, picking up her goblet of wine, mock-toasting the dead corpses, and drinking to her victory, looking forward to her future and the freedom she knew she was no longer denied.

The deaths had been easy enough to explain to the authorities. Many servants had loathed the Duke and his son and did not feel the need to snitch on the woman who gave the pair their just desserts. All Elektra had to do was play the innocent card: shrug, play dumb, and shed a tear or two, to win the investigators sympathy and eliminate their suspicion, leaving her free to indulge in anything her heart desires and take on a new role as a Sorceress, particularly in dark magic, which has become more and more difficult for her to pull away from...

-Powers-

Magic Specialty: Mainly dark, though Elektra does plenty of experimentation in other fields, such as illusions. Staying true to her Caraklein roots, much of her magic involves ice: hail, snowstorms, etc.
Favorite Spell: Lumimyrskyyn Zahana- Summons an unwavering blizzard under Elektra’s control.
Weakness: Sunlight/ Intensely bright light. Any contact with such leaves Elektra in unimaginable pain for several days, as well as temporary blindness.
Skills: Music- composing and performing using her piano, manipulating people to her advantage.
Items: Various magical and charmed jewelry, a few smoke bombs, and an explosive or two.

-Other information-

Favorite Color: Black
Voice: Melodic. Elektra speaks with a strong Carakleinian accent (sounds like a blend of a Finnish and French), generally with a light tone, neither loud nor soft, with a hint of seduction concealed in the notes emitted by her vocal chords.

-How I act-

Personality: Queen Cassandra can be a bit snobbish and think her self more important then someone else. It’s the way she was raised, if she thinks something isn’t good enough for her she will let you know. She doesn’t have much in the way of a sense of humour and doesn’t like nicnames. Only her family members can get way with calling her Cassie. She can be a nice person, she rules a fair land and is willing to give a fair hearing and not so quick to send subjects to the dungeons. Kinda shy in expressing strong emotions in public. Particularly those of affection. Even though she loves her husband very much.

Has a timid side and could described a dainty, tries to avoid accidents but still manages to get into some type of predicament. Not at all violent in nature, but bit protective over her family, she baby sister in particular.

In court how ever Cassandra is strong minded and will only speak the truth, if she believes some one is out of like she will let them now, quiet clearly. She followers her senses with all honesty and is careful on who she trusts. She is one to forgive if someone messes up, but only if the person in question truly regrets there mistake.

Over all she is a kind and fair person, and a understanding Queen.

Usual Mood: Calm and quiet

-History-

Your Story Please? Cassie was born in the Castle of Lancaster to Alastair and Beatice, she was the first born for quiet some time, she was mostly raised by castle nurses and taught how to be a lady by her mother, Beatrice. Her father mostly keeps her to the side lines, letting the castle staff raise her. Then her baby sister Desdemona was born when she was 10, She is very protective over her sister, and even takes to mothering her as she gets older.

Soon after she turned 18 her father started pushing for her to be married and started sending her to all the balls in the surrounding kingdoms. In one of these balls her mother and father push her together with Prince Oberon of the kingdom of Alrania, she finds him to be quite a gentleman, although he was quiet he was polite, even asked her to dance. If this was the person her parents wanted her to marry, she would give him a chance.

On her and Oberon’s next meeting there was a little less pushing her parents part and more willingness her part. During the second meeting she found she rather liked Oberon. He was kind, charming, and friendly. She felt comfortable with him, which was more she could say for some of the other jerks her father had tried to pair her with. One had been so confidant he even tried to kiss her. No she liked Oberon, he was not so bad, he didn’t seem to be in love with another girl. She had had those to, one young Count even cried on her shoulder cause he was in live with another woman.

Then is was on one night it was announced to her that she an Oberon would be married. She had been pleasantly surprised, that she was not opposed to the idea, she wasn’t in love with another man, and she liked Oberon so she gave him a chance. He started to win her heart over that night in fact. With a beautiful song that he wrote himself, she had been awed by her newly betrothed.

The had a heart wrenching goodbye to her little sister, Des who practically begged her not to leave. She wanted nothing more then to take her little sister with her to keep her happy, but it simply wasn’t possible, it was not proper for a younger sister to live with her married older sister. She promised little Des she could visit whenever she wanted or when ever she was allowed, she would always be welcome. She asked favour of her father to be gentle to Des and do what ever it took to make the transition of her leaving as painless as possible.

She was overjoyed with the idea of the hawk to send messages to each other.

After marrying Oberon they slowly being to get to know each other more, respect and care for each other soon follow. She in informs him of secret from her past and he in turn does to her, Eventually Cassie falls deeply in love with Oberon and is thrilled when she finds out she is carrying his first child. She can sense he is a bit nervous however doesn’t say much other then hug him and tell him everything would be alright. She delivers a healthy baby girl, and true to her word to Oberon, she was alright. She remained in bed for a few days, shaking off a slight fever form a minor infection. Luckily the fever left and as did the infection.

They named the little girl Cara, which meant ‘Beloved’…

Cassie was pleasantly surprised by how good a father Oberon was, her own father.. Though a good man, wasn’t much of a father to daughter, thinking it good enough for someone else to take care of them. Oberon actually made time for his new born daughter and sang to her. That actually made her fall in love with him all the more, she couldn’t believe she had lucked out with the arranged marriage thing. Of all the men in the kingdom of Nobility she got the kindest of them.

The years went by and soon after Cara turned 3 years old Cassie found out she was having another child, she gave birth to little Prince Liam a month early, despite the premature birth Liam survived and after lots of extra care he soon became a healthy baby boy.

With two young children who were both healthy Cassie couldn’t be happier, however tragedy strikes the happy family when King Woden fall very ill. As the result of the illness Woden stops being king and lets his son Oberon take over. Cassie is concerned about Queen Genevieve, though tries not to let is show it to much. She tries to be as helpful as she can, if there was no possible way for her to be helpful she would stay out of the way. She of course would be there for her beloved husband should he require a loving hand in comfort, especially after the king took his own life.

She then became the Queen of the kingdom of Alrania, despite her shy disposition in real life Cassandra is a force to be reckoned with in the Royal court, have grown up in such a setting it came naturally to her and was used to the order and sometimes chaos of the Court room as most Royals were. She knew her place in the court room and that made her comfortable.

Her initial concern for the Dowager Queen returned after the older woman was injured in an archery accident. She has a great amount of respect for her mother in-law, and they remain on good terms. If it ever came down to it Cassie would do whatever it took to ease the burden or pain the Dowager was going through. If anyone bothered to ask or confide in her that is. True she knew her mother in-law viewed her as innocent child, sometime she could not blame them for think that. But it made her feel bad the other people thought they could not confide in her.

Then more years went by and things were the same yet they were different, the children grew and grew. Little Cara was a spit Fire if she ever had seen one, always climbing trees and walls, nearly giving her parents heart attacks in the process at near falls and injuries. Liam was a curious child and often followed his sister around when he was not in “school” with his father or another tutors.

Then news came of Dec’s arrival to visit, Cassie gladly welcomed her sister to the castle of Alrania, Then upon request of her father, as request she happily agreed with that Des be given a personal guard. She knew her sister would fuss about it at first given her independent nature, but would accept it later. Then she was glad she did force the issue when news of Des’s arranged marriage with the Baron Yorick, an old horrible man if she ever met one. After numerous attempts to get there father to change his mind about the marriage and failing. She decides to try and think of a different plan of action, of what she wasn’t sure but she didn’t want her baby sister married to that brute of a man. And that sorcerer of his was not good either.

However her plans for helping her sister directly are foiled when she starts to suffer from awful nightmares the plague her the moment she closes her eyes at night. Having no time to sleep during the day and kept awake be nightmares during the night. The strength inside the young queen starts to dwindle, She only manages to get a small amount of sleep when Oberon sings to her the song he composed, and even then it can only ward of the dreams for so long.

She becomes most worried when Des tells her that Yorick kissed her against her will it was then she eventually realizes that William, Des personal guard is gone. It is later found out that the young guard heard Des confess the deed Yorick did and went to avenge Des’s honour

After Yorick is dead, the sorcerer Iago eventually removes the curse he placed on the Queen. Her torturous long nightmare ended and she was finally able to sleep.

-History-

Your Story Please? She was a rather unexpected child. Having only given birth to Cassandra a decade ago, Queen Beatrice did not expect to conceive, especially because of her rather delicate condition as well as age. King Alastair was not at all disappointed however, as it had rekindled his wish for a male heir. His wish for a son however, as unfulfilled as nine months later, Desdemona was born. Nonetheless, King Alastair was happy enough that the child was healthy and so was his wife and went on to his daily dealings. He was a good king however, unfamiliar in the role of a father. So busy was he in the affairs of the state that he’d failed to spend time with his daughters making him rather unsure how to show affection. Little did they know the reason for Alastair's apparent detachment to his daughters was brought on because of a tragic incident long before Desdemona was born. Queen Beatrice and King Alastair had a pair of twin boys, Edmund and Edgar, before Desdemona or even Cassandra was born, twin boys that Alastair loved deeply. However, because of evil maligned men, the twin boys were kidnapped. One, Edgar was murdered, and Edmund was lost forever, presumed dead. This devastated Alastair and Beatrice. Beatrice had become permanently sickly while Alastair had closed himself up emotionally.

Their mother however was caring and loved her daughters just as a mother knew how. Princess Cassandra was ecstatic to have a baby sister and proceeded to care for and protect Desdemona. As such, Desdemona was rather fond of her dear sister and was ever so distraught one day to find that Cassandra was going to be married and in effect, leave. It was something Desdemona took to heart and it took her quiet a bit of time to recover. Her father, in an attempt to comfort her, bought her a hawk, which she was able to train (with some help from the palace care-taker) to send letters to herself and her sister. It did pleased her so that it established a more affectionate relationship between her and the old King, that would soon deteriorate once again when her father promised her to a vile and horrible man.

With her sister’s departure, spending time in the Castle seemed to only remind her of that fact and so she turned to the outdoors. She enjoyed nature and all of it’s little magics. Being innately sensitive to magic anyways, she soon learned the magics of nature, that enabled her to speak with certain animals and the old language of trees. She developed a set of magical abilities and amongst them, an ability to heal.

As she grew, she became rather pretty and caught the eye of one Baron named Yorick. Her being a Princess of a rather, prosperous kingdom, and thus meaning a hefty dowry, only sweetened Yorick’s desire for her and he made an arrangement that her father, thinking Yorick to be an honest and wise man agreed to – much to Desdemona’s dismay.

Thoughout this time, she’d have long visits to her sister’s kingdom and one such visit resulted in her being assigned a personal guard. An event which infuriated her at the start – she’d enjoyed her independence and her ability to go off on her own in the outskirts of the palace to the forest – with her new body guard… well she wouldn’t be alone! Besides, she was rather confident that she could take care of herself, a rather naïve perspective but she didn’t think her life was in danger, if any at all, that she’d warrant a personal guard. Besides! The guard wasn’t even a proper knight yet! She couldn’t care less that he was an excellet and skilled swordsman, she still didn’t want him! It really was ridicules. But her father and her sister had already agreed and it was really out of her control. And thus she meets William, her shinning knight-in-training. William rather good looking and would listen to her like no one she ever met.

Soon her objections to a personal guard disappeared as she started to develop feelings for a certain guard. She doesn’t quite know what his feelings are for her as he is careful to be a proper gentleman when with her however, sometimes, when she tells him her feelings on certain subjects, he reveals a certain light that disappears before Des could really analysis it further. She also reasons that it’s silly to think that Will would ever care for her in a romantic light, he was merely doing his job besides, she was already betrothed, a thought that made her sick to her stomach.

-How I act-

Personality: Being born into the royalty, Oberon tends to have a bit of a snobbish air at times around those of lower status, though is not opposed to granting the occasional exception. This high-and-mighty attitude particularly manifests around the men of the courts moreso than the ladies, the latter of whom he is always a polite gentleman toward. He does not hesitate to speak his mind most times, but will hold his tongue if he deems it appropriate to do so. His sense of humor is decent, though tends to reserve it for when it’s best appropriate. Oberon is rather mindful of matching his disposition to meet the situation, though tends to laugh uncontrollably when acutely nervous or worried.

However, despite this snobby streak it does not mean he is a cruel king. Quite the contrary: he wishes to protect his people with all his heart, known for being generous and compassionate to those in his favor, yet knows that he cannot save them all from their lots in life. He has a strong urge to protect the people of Alrania from threat and refuses to play doormat to those demanding extortion.

Behind the confident stride and voice lay a man who weighs the options and attempts to do the best things for his kingdom, though is not above worry over whether his decision was sound and just. Oberon also has a tendency to be impatient and obstinate. When in an irritable mood he has a tendency to set unreasonably short amounts of time for projects to be completed. (Though, Cassandra and/or Genevieve may be able to persuade him to extend the limits a bit. ^_^)

The true strength of emotions felt is generally restrained from their fullest potency in the public eye, the exception being his anger. Oberon has always had an explosive, violent temper, though does his best not to let it get the better of him. While it is rarely seen, it is truly a force to be reckoned with. Mistakes are often reprimanded harshly and with an acclaimed dent in faith, though one rebuked by King Oberon may take heart in knowing that the King is just as stern on himself as he is with them. The only difference is he tends to take himself to task in silence and in private rather than in view of the public. Fear not, though: Oberon is a balanced king and, while his patience may oft wear thin, does his best to ensure fairness.

Affection is one of those emotions on aforementioned restraint, both from upbringing and in accordance with his Queen’s shyness in displaying it. However he does love his family very much and, in private, is a very kind man with a big heart and an exceedingly loving disposition. He prefers to bury his grief and sadness entirely from view, but it doesn’t always turn out that way. In the event such emotions are loosened from his grasp Oberon will shield his eyes, moreso before those he does not wish to be considered weak. Yes, this includes his wife on some occasions as he feels a husband should be strong for his wife. Toward loved ones, Oberon feels he can be more like his true self around them, yet worries about them coming to harm.

In regards to children, Oberon enjoys speaking with them when able and rather more rarely joining in on their games. However, due to his duties as king the only children he has time for are either his own or those appearing in audience with their parents – the former being the more important and likely of interaction of the two possibilities. He is actually quite protective of children, having lost one of his own at the age of twenty-one. Anyone intent on harming such innocence had best hope they do not catch King Oberon’s eye, though the same can be said of any that the man cares deeply about.

When challenged in most anything, Oberon will rise to meet it. The same can be said of debate. Size does not always matter, and nor does strength. Though, he recognizes both are helpful. Some would say his daring, his ready acceptance of challenges, makes him a bit reckless. To those people, Oberon would like to say: nothing ventured, nothing gained.

In terms of entertainment, Oberon enjoys music but only dances when he has to or is expected to. Jokes are most welcome, so long as he or someone he cares about are not made the butt of said joke. He can play a lute and sing, with the former being a lesser-known fact. Oberon, like most men of the age, takes great enjoyment in a goblet of ale. Various sporting events and various games of strategy and wit are also on his list of recreational activities.

His views on death are... complicated. To date he has suffered three distinct, life-changing deaths: that of his first wife, Princess Delyth; his first son, Gareth; and his own father from suicide, King Woden of Alrania. He knows, from the physicians, that sometimes birth and death go hand in hand, yet couldn’t help but blame himself for his first wife’s death for the first few months after her last rites. Oberon also blames himself for young Gareth’s death, for had Oberon been watching the child perhaps he wouldn’t have succumbed to death. In regards to his father, well... that was another harsh blow. However, considering Woden’s options, Oberon understood his father’s choice and respected it, even if he’d rather have had his father with him. The only solace in regards to this loss is that his father no longer suffers.

Of late King Oberon has taken an acute interest in magic. As a child he was also interested but was far too impatient to learn. While he is still impatient, Oberon is attempting to learn these new arts when he has the time.

Usual Mood: Neutral but amicable enough; confident of where he feels he stands in life, yet knows/feels that filling his father’s shoes will not be easy.

-History-

Your Story Please? Oberon is the firstborn son of King Woden and Queen Genevieve of Alrania, born in the castle of the same name as the realm. Though he had not known it at the time, his birth was within the first year of his parents’ marriage – ten months to be exact. For many of his early years he rarely seen his mother, approximately once a week though he knew not how frequent that was at first, but got to see his father as often as his duties would allow. Which was actually quite a fair share amount of time, and the lad certainly didn’t complain about that!

Sometimes, when a nurse or maid thought he was paying attention, Oberon would spy a blonde-haired, fair-complexioned woman standing in the doorway from the corner of his eye. However, when he attempted to actually look at the woman fully it seemed as though she had melted into the shadows and disappeared. Strange, his young mind would think. He was always more than delighted to see his father walk through the doors of the nursery, greeting him with a smile and a good-natured laugh, or a rather loud and happy shout of “Papa!” or “Father!” which would inevitably echo about the room.

One evening, upon being read to before bed, Oberon pointed to an illustration of an angel in the book depicted with blonde hair and fair skin. An angel. “Mummy!” the boy exclaimed with excited glee to the reserved nursemaid, who promptly attempted to quiet him for he was defiantly resisting her attempts to lull him to sleep. Though his mother was a rarely seen entity, the young prince was informed on who she was and readily accepted queenly duties as being the reason for her infrequent visits. Whenever Woden, his father, came to see him, Oberon made sure to communicate as best as possible his desires of hearing about both parents and their pasts, and had even showed his father the angel image that looked quite similar to Genevieve.

Even at such a tender age, things tend to stick with a person. The one thing Oberon remembers from those days was when his father would tell him stories, some fictional and others real. One such true account happened to be when his parents had gotten lost camping... on a battlefield, the prince riddled out as he got older and became more interested in conquest... and had to travel a great distance in the rain. His father had tripped and broken his ankle, but Genevieve’s laughter, singing – ‘like a nymph’ in the King’s exact words – and dancing had erased from Woden’s mind and ankle the pain that had been there. However, to this day Oberon still keeps the vow of secrecy he promised. Well, sort of. He may have told his own sons, the late Prince Gareth and the current Prince Liam... though they too have been sworn to secrecy.

Then, at the age of three, Oberon was surprised by the arrival of Theseus... a baby brother.

“What’s his name?” Oberon inquired of a nursemaid upon peeking over the cradle whilst standing upon a stool so he could see. There was already a hint of authority to his tone.

“Theseus,” she had replied without bothering to correct the boy’s tone.

An incessant stream of questions followed thereafter, as well as quite a few botched attempts to pronounce his brother’s name. While he would never admit to having messed up on the name, claiming to have erred on purpose, Oberon distinctly recalls different mutterings of ‘see-sis’, ‘see-see-us’, and ‘thiss-ee-iss’ had all been common. An infant brother was only fun to watch for so long, however, and thus often found other means to entertain himself. As Theseus grew older, one method of young Oberon’s entertainment involved getting the other boy in trouble. Nothing to elicit too terrible a punishment – just enough to have it been an annoyance. And, sometimes, Oberon would be right there to pull his younger sibling right back out of the spot Theseus had been in.

“Father, could you tell me of the time when...” was a common phrase heard from little Oberon’s mouth during much of his first decade or so of life. The boy was always ready to learn about the kingdom in which he lived and how it got to be so big in the first place. Often he wondered what the other places in his father’s kingdom looked like, and what kind of people lived there. Upon hearing that his mother was from a neighboring, conquered kingdom called Mystenia, Oberon had immediately wanted to make ready and head to the place of his mother’s origins. However, his hopes for voyage were thwarted and a reassuring, “Someday, son,” put in its place. Woden was awarded an inpatient sigh and a nod, as if Oberon himself had agreed to postpone the voyage for a later date. And then the child’s attention would flit onto something else and his good mood restored.

When the boy came to be of schooling age, things started to get interesting. An occasional defiance would appear, even unto and through his teenage years, but not out of hatred. Oberon as a child was merely testing the royal limits – what would and wouldn’t get him sent to his father and/or mother and what he could just barely get away with. He climbed trees merely to see what he could see of his father’s kingdom, without fear, and upon being caught and reported was disciplined accordingly by the parent who heard of such tales. Woden was a fairly jovial, carefree father... Genevieve was often the strict one of the Royal Family.

If Oberon was not making mischief by deliberately not showing up to class or harassing those of lower rank with various pranks, then he was busily studying his books or the warrior’s trade as was expected of him. As a child, Oberon made it his one goal in life to ensure that his parents would be proud of him and his achievements, even occasionally rigging it so that his brother performed less than noteworthy but those times were few and far between. Because Oberon had a malady regarding his long-distance eyesight and Theseus apparently didn’t, it was often in archery that most of the trickery sprang from. But after a while the tricks got old, and the lad allowed Theseus to outstrip him in skill with the bow but not by much. Oberon tried various, much more honorable and productive tactics to correct his aim, all with varying degrees of success.

The fact that his father had not stopped spending time with him whenever the King was able pleased the young prince greatly. Mealtimes were a joy since as far back as Oberon could remember: both his parents were present as well as other members of his family, and talk at table consisted of the kingdom in which they lived and ruled. The boy had asked many a question, both profound and mundane, to try and understand the world around him. On certain school days his mother would appear to the schoolroom and treat either him or his brother to an afternoon activity – sometimes a picnic he hadn’t anticipated, an adventure on horseback, or even a trip through the nearer towns. Oberon was always eager to hear from his brother what happened when he was not the lucky child to go with her that day, though this was likely due to the fact that Oberon had had the last ‘turn’ so to speak.

One of Oberon’s lessons, by volition, was in magic. Though the boy enjoyed seeing it performed, he had very little patience for the lessons. Being a young boy / teenager, Oberon had only met strictness from the old wizard with further defiance as he considered the wizard beneath him in rank. It was only after many tries to cool his arrogant ego, and a few pranks and miscellaneous other not-so-laughter-inspiring incidents, that the old wizard had given up in a huff and refused to teach the firstborn prince any further until the boy learned to have more patience.

As a young adult, and heir to the throne, Oberon was pushed to marry early by both his parents. While his teenage sweetheart, Lady Sophia, was the obvious choice to him, his parents had wanted him to take a princess for a bride. Not to mention Lady Sophia had already been arranged to marry another. Oberon has since lost track of the woman since her departure to another faraway kingdom. That only left the other childhood friendship he had: Princess Delyth, of Elengalad. Both his parents approved of her, and had arranged with Delyth’s parents for the marriage to take place.

At first, Delyth was opposed to the marriage, thinking Oberon as a brother rather than a lover. It had been a bit awkward as well for Oberon, who felt the same way. But, in time, they came to accept the new roles they would soon be cast into. Proof of this came approximately a year later with the birth of their first child: a son, whom was named Gareth, but at a price. Delyth had not survived the child-bearing, and this pained Oberon greatly.

Like his father to him, Oberon made sure to spend as much time with the boy as possible. This included when the child was but a babe. He would play on his lute for his son lullabies and happy melodies, but felt too awkward to sing to the infant as the nursemaids did. When he could not be with the child, Oberon trusted his care into the hands and arms of nursemaids. It pained Oberon to think of the day he would have to answer to Gareth why he had not a mother. While he knew birth and death were sometimes one, Oberon felt personally responsible for sending the lovely Delyth to her grave by giving her a child.

Upon Gareth’s fifth year to walk the earth, Oberon commissioned a carpenter to craft for them wooden practice swords, so that the boy may learn to fight at a very young age but without the risk of getting torn apart in training. Only the most trusted knights and Oberon himself were allowed to give the boy lessons on wielding weapons. Though the boy was dreadfully clumsy on his feet, Gareth had great potential as a young swordsman.

Despite the boy prince’s tireless training and learning, bouts of mischievous activity so much like his father at that age aside, fate had decided to cut Gareth’s life short. Oberon had noticed his son taking a liking to horses and riding and, as the boy was already 8, had decided to give him riding lessons. The King would ride atop his own horse beside his son, who was tentatively led by a knight or a trusted squire, though sometimes both. Oberon hadn’t even noticed that, while returning the horses to their stables, Gareth had followed and gone afoul of one stallion that had not yet been tamed or saddle-broken.

It was the bloodcurdling scream of a young boy that alerted Oberon to the tragedy, busied as he had suddenly been by urgent news. It took half a dozen knights to hold the king back from the gory sight. “Dare you keep me from the sight of my son as though I were a frail lady?!” he had roared fiercely at those barring his path. “I DEMAND TO LOOK UPON MY SON!”

And so the corpse was revealed, to Oberon’s inner horror. To this day the image refuses to leave his mind. A solemn resolve overcame the King that fateful day... just as the Oberon’s own blade was used to slay the animal responsible for practically if not literally stamping young Gareth’s life out of existence. While his son had yet to accomplish any deeds of grandeur in battle, Oberon commissioned a memorial statue for his late wife and child, and decreed Gareth’s burial site to be not far from Delyth’s.

Oberon conducts a private memorial for both lost wife and child upon their respective days of birth and death.

For three years passed, Oberon mourned the loss of his son in conjunction with the loss of his wife. At times, his interest in rule had waned. For his family to continue ruling, they would need an heir. In order to acquire an heir of legal and honorable stock, he would have to remarry and attempt to create another family. It was not his worry of the spirits of his lost loved ones being angry that worried him, but rather he feared a repeat of what had happened with Delyth and Gareth. Oberon did not want to curse women of the court with deaths like Delyth’s, or the children borne from them accidents the like of his son’s.

It was with half-hearted consent, and quite frankly little real choice of his own, that his parents coaxed him to attend a ball being held in the kingdom of Lancaster. The hosts were King Alastair and Queen Beatrice, and they were pleasant enough. Oberon personally lost count of how many times it had been hinted that they had an eligible daughter in need of a husband by his own parents. So, Oberon consented to having himself pushed into meeting this Princess Cassandra. He was certain she was a lovely young lady; it was just remembering that Delyth had been equally so and yet had lost her so early on that made him hesitant to remarry in his mind so soon after the deaths he mourned. While the princess was at least a decade younger than him Oberon treated her as though she were his peer in both age and rank. And she was indeed rather beautiful. Though he was both quiet and polite, the prince did ask her arm in a dance. Her acceptance to the invitation to dance did little to make him very talkative, but Oberon was congenial nonetheless.

Not long after the ball in Lancaster, Oberon’s parents had seen fit to host a similar event within Alrania Castle. Unlike the last ball he’d attended, Prince Oberon was actually looking forward to it. Particularly when he’d heard the Lords and Ladies – well, one Lady to be specific – of Lancaster would be attending. His parents needn’t push him to greet the princess in the slightest, going to her of his own volition. “A pleasure for you and your family to join us, Princess,” the then-thirty-something prince greeted her with a smile simply glittering with charm.

When Oberon found out his parents and Princess Cassandra’s had decided to call their match a union, the man couldn’t have been happier. Despite the difference in age, which was not uncommon, Oberon was simply enamored with her and hoped that she would have him as her prince and eventual King. A simple but eloquent inquiry revealed she was not opposed to the idea, and in the magic of the moment Oberon composed a short love song for her:

Ea tarel lo’
When I first saw you

endo rena’u tul Iahn
An angel from Heaven above

sino memaru vahn
If you would have me

rr’hil di nyar
My heart soars in bliss

te’nam b’arrme ta
I’ll love you forever

Her awestruck gaze at the melody had him convinced that his parents had arranged yet another match made in Heaven, as it were. Oberon made certain from that day forth to come up with similar melodies from that day forward for his bride to entertain her when they needn’t worry about the pressures of the public eye.

Oberon truly loved his new wife, though they took the relationship slowly so as not to impose themselves upon the other. Woden was still king and thus Oberon still had time to come up with an heir. Intimate knowledge was exchanged, and respect soon followed. One such a time was when Oberon told Cassandra of a time when he’d had a dream and –sure enough – everything down to the last detail had come to pass. His bride had found him worthy then to share a secret of her own: that she had been somewhat schooled in magic. Oberon’s being entrusted with this knowledge meant more than what the knowledge actually was at the moment he truly, sincerely, fell in love with her.

It also rekindled his desire somewhat to look into learning the arcane arts again, though other duties prevented him from immersing himself into the arts. One of these duties happened to be imminent fatherhood. Nervousness, an overwhelming joy, and yet a gripping fear coursed through him in alternating waves. Despite her assurances that she would be alright he was still troubled to the point of having regular bouts of insomnia for fear of dreams involving Cassandra as Delyth, and the unborn child as Gareth. He did not want to curse his wife with a mere nine months left of life...

Relief swept through Oberon’s every fiber when midwives reported Cassandra had delivered a baby girl, and that mother and child had both survived the stressful event of birth-giving, though Cassandra had developed a fever as result from infection. Oberon, back into near-panic, had made sure to summon the best physicians in the land to see to her. By fate’s good graces the fever and infection left his young wife’s body days later.

In order to give living proof to the fortunate love the arranged couple felt for each other, Oberon and Cassandra named their daughter ‘Cara’. Beloved... It was as if birdsong from Cassandra’s voice, and warmed honey from his.

Like Gareth before Cara, Oberon did his best to be as good a father to his daughter as Woden had been to him. This included frequent visits to the crib-side, a pleasing melody plucked upon the lute, or, rather more commonly, a lullaby of the same tune he often sang to Cassandra. The lyrics were different, but the melody stayed true. Oberon continued to make time for his child even as she grew oh so rapidly.

It wasn’t until little Cara turned three years old that Oberon was told his wife was carrying yet a second child. And, judging by her last pregnancy, one of the midwives suggested it may be a boy. Sure enough, little Prince Liam was brought into the Kingdom of Alrania eight months later. True, he was a whole month early according to proper dates for pregnancy and birth but once again both mother and child survived. Liam had required extra care at first, but was a healthy child nonetheless.

However, this happy time also has a slightly bitter aftertaste to it: King Woden, at around the same time of Prince Liam’s birth, was injured on the battlefield due to a poisoned arrow. The poison had waited some time to launch its assault, and even the best physicians could only stay death’s hand for a year. Oberon’s coronation had taken place, making him and Cassandra King and Queen now, and was given the medallion he now wears around his neck. Initially it was a requirement of office to design one’s own medallion, which Oberon had already begun doing, when Woden insisted on his son having his own medallion. With honor the eldest son of Woden accepted the gift.

The new king of Alrania was struck again when, nearly a year later, his father decided to take his life into his own hands and end it via the poisonous hemlock. While Oberon respected and understood the want to not make his family watch his suffering, it hit the man just as hard as the other deaths in his life had. The only solace Oberon found was a hope that his father no longer suffered from the poison that doomed him. Yet, he had a new problem: his widowed mother.

To put it mildly, Genevieve refused cajoling and comfort offered unto her by all and had even attempted to take her own life. Oberon felt he owed the servant a great deal, but did not fully express or acknowledge this want. Then, Genevieve refused to speak with anyone save him. A true, deep affection was revealed to him that day... something he had suspected for many a year, especially after his first experiences in being a father. Oberon was relieved when his mother slowly rebuilt herself back to a semblance of her former demeanor, overcoming the grip of her grief. It pleased him to see her return to her daily activities, though he still worried about her possibly revisiting her contemplations on death. This worry only increased when she received a debilitating wound from stage hunting, and left her unable to do many of the things she used to owing to over-exertion.

At present, King Oberon intends to begin five-year-old Liam’s swordsmanship training the moment the boy is finished with his studies and he is temporarily relieved of courtly duties.

-Powers-

((Magic Users))
Magic Specialty: Undecided... Oberon merely has an interest in Magic but can’t do anything noteworthy at the moment.
Favorite Spell: Unknown as of yet
Weakness:
- Myopia (nearsightedness) which causes his accuracy in archery to be off because distant targets are blurry

- Overexertion in magical efforts causes him to come down with a malaise of sorts; symptoms being namely insomnia, nausea, and headache in addition to a general ‘out of sorts’ feeling.

- Is allergic to valerian root, which is used medicinally in herbal medicine as a remedy for insomnia.

- Occasionally overconfident

Skills:
+ Composing songs, both melodies on his lute and those to be sung (moreso the latter)
+ Horseback riding
+ Swordsmanship
+ Archery (limited due to his myopia)
+ Playing Backgammon (a board game of strategy) – picture of backgammon board
+ Wilderness survival skills

Items:
# Sword (click here for picture)
# Crown
# Signet ring
# Curved dagger
# Luxurious fur cloak/cape (worn during cold weather)
# A medallion necklace that belonged to his father, consisting of a Celtic knot golden filigree and inlaid w/ various jewels. It was given to him as both a gift and a symbol of office.
# A similar medallion necklace he had had commissioned to be made in preparation for his rule. It now stays in a pouch on his belt until the day comes when he may give his medallion to Liam. The only difference is that there are more emeralds in it, and has a trefoil instead of a Celtic Knot.
# Long bow made of yew, with a quiver full of oaken arrows and fletched with owl feathers. Markings along the shaft of each one mark these arrows as strictly Oberon’s.

Voice:
* Singing – soft and melodic lilt, between tenor and baritone
* Speaking normally – a smooth, silky drawl
* Speak-shouting – one can only best describe Oberon shouting as like a lion’s roar from a mountain cliff. Is very good at projecting his voice to make sure he is heard.

Name: Posol Vander-Gilt, Duke of Atticus
Age: 85 (when he died)
Gender: Male
Profession: Duke of Atticus, Military Expert and Adviser

Description Posol stood about 1/2 an inch short of being 6 feet tall, with a rather muscular physique, courtesy of leading numerous battles in various wars. Bright blue orbs sparkled constantly with good nature, and often allowed others to read him like a book just by gazing at them. At one point in his youth he had long golden hair that he kept pulled back at the back of his neck. However, as time passed by, the golden locks faded to white, the bright blur orbs dimmed, his form wrinkled, sagged, and shrunk, leaving him to be nothing more than a ghost of his past.

Picture: Approved Characters 22blog

Personality: Posol is naturally a laid-back, good-natured man, always throwing in a punch line, for he is a firm believer of laughter being the best medicine. His compassion and sense of duty runs very deep as he often looks into matters, choosing that which benefit the people, and not only himself, and also often donating alms. Given his rather simple background, he tends to lack in class and mannerisms, and quite often comes off to others as rude and vulgar, albeit good-natured, whose bawdy humor belongs in a pub.

However, despite his age, his sharpness, a renowned trait in his youth, still emerges into a stern exterior, on alert for anything that may happen.

History:

Born to a family of poor farmers, Posol never expected much in life, assuming that he'd take after his forebears and earn a living barely getting by on his crops. However, that proved to be just the opposite, as Posol had one thing that no one else of his blood did: a gift for devising military strategies.

He used this gift to his extreme advantage, enlisting in the war to fight for Alrania. His skills earned the attention of his peers as he soon climbed up the ranks, eventually commanding his own troops, leading them to victory with his craftily plotted strategy. As a result of his service, the royals rewarded him with a highly prized title: a Dukedom, overseeing Atticus.

Through all of his life, ever since his childhood days, there has always been one girl at his side, supporting him: Bernadette Peterson, also born into the farming life. She was the love of his life and bore him one son: Charlemagne. Unfortunately, Bernadette did not live to be the great Duchess Posol knew she would be, for scarcely a month after earning his Dukedom she grew ill with small pox during the epidemic and perished.

He was so devastated at the loss of his long-time lover that he lived in absolute abstinence and mourning for her. At least, until the trouble concerning Charlemagne began. As Posol and Bernadette were married a few days after Charlemagne's birth, he was soon declared a Bastard, and ineligible to inherit the dukedom.

With his strong sense of duty towards his Dukedom and his duties to provide an heir, Posol began to search fervently for a bride. He was convinced that the Gods had granted his wish when he crossed paths with Lord Fersen, Caraklein's Ambassador who had been visiting the Kingdom bearing news of exactly what Posol needed: an eligible maiden, Princess Elektra.

He had been greatly pleased by the mini-portrait of Elektra, marveling at her features and the sweetness and compassion he was sure illuminated her eyes, and eagerly made an offer. For the first time in decades, he allowed himself to dream about his future with his new wife, who he was sure would be kind, loving, and take care of him until the day he died.

The poor old man wasn't even close to being right.

The moment Elektra's eyes met his elder form, a scowl appeared on her face. Her native tongue was one he himself did not know so he couldn't be sure exactly what she had uttered to the Ambassador who had accompanied her to Atticus. However, judging by her tone and stance, even the Village Fool would know she was not at all happy.

Their wedding and the weeks that followed provided little change. Posol tried numerous times to get close to his new wife, attempting to start conversations with her, inquiring about Caraklein. He even tried to shower her with affection, often walking with her, trying to hold her hand and wrap his arm around her. There was even a moment where it was particularly cold and, not wanting his bride to get cold, offered her his very own coat.

... Only to have her throw the coat right back to his face, walking away in disgust.

Naturally, her rebuffs to all his attempts to grow close to her frustrated him. Add that to his failure to produce an heir on her (which, if he had to be brutally honest and fair, was not entirely his wife's fault. He had overestimated his stamina, and thus proved to all he was not in as good shape as he had originally thought.), and the poor man cracked. He had always had a strong sense of duty, keen on fulfilling all his duties, and now, even though he gave his absolute best efforts he still failed abysmally.

The affection he once had for his wife and attempted to bestow on her faded into extreme iciness, enough to rival the iciness she bestowed to him. All the patience he normally carried was all gone as his frustration was made clear to all, particularly Elektra. Very easily, he lost temper, especially when Elektra felt the need to throw various insults and remarks at him (which was quite often), and more than one occasion lost all sense of control and struck at her, even throttling her. Not to mention, he knew very well the harassment his son put her through, yet did nothing about it to intervene. In his mind, justice was being served.

To sum up his marriage, she had no respect or affection for him, so he felt no need to bestow any on her. Which was probably a great mistake on his part, for a few months later, his dear wife murdered him.

-How I act-

Personality: Cara is a kind hearted and bright young girl, she is very excitable and seems at times to have exceeding amount of energy, Despite being the princess of the kingdom, Cara likes to do rather unprincess like things, like sword play with her father and climbing trees and walls that afternoon. The young princess carefree and loving little girl, willing to do anything help out her family, except keep her feet on the ground that is. For Cara loved the thrill of watching the sun set and rise from high up and at to merely escape the constant eye of her over baring maids who took care of her when her parents were busy.

It all Cara is a happy, but daredevil-ish kind of girl, not letting the possibility she might get hurt stop her from having as much fun a possible.
Usual Mood: Happy, carefree, and innocently obvious to the dangers of the world.

-History-

Your Story Please? Princess Cara was born to King Oberon and Queen Cassandra, she was the first born child to the couple and only daughter to the royal couple. She was loved by the whole family, her father sang and lulled her to sleep with soothing melodies and she spent a lot of time with her grandfather. Her gentle mother offered a lot of love and caring hand as well through sickness’s and injuries, which were frequent and the young princess had a need for danger streak in her as soon as she could walk, always climbing things to get a better look a the wonders of the world. She was a happy little girl and always had a smile on her face, she was most happy when she was became a big sister to prince Liam.

However around the same time her little brother was born, her kind grandfather fell ill according to her mother. She had been sad her Grandfather was sick, but she had not understood the severity of the illness. When she had been sick she always got better again.

The little princess to devastated to learn her loved Grandfather had left this world and went on to the next, she had cried for a long while often asking where her Grandfather was and why he had to leave them. One of her first true memories was when her mother recited a poem like verse that she would remember for ever and it was a verse she would recite every morning as the sun came up.

You know what I like about sunrises, Cara? It’s a new beginning of another day, where anything can await. A whole new day to forget the darkness of the night and erase all the pain and bitterness. It is something you can look forward to with a yearning smile. Do I make any sense?

Even if the day before went wrong, the sunrise can bring another chance to mend all the hardships. You can face a whole new day to start over again. There is never a dead end if there is a sunrise. You can seize the day…”

And so life went on for the little princess and grew into a energetic and free spirited girl, more intent to climb trees then and walls of the castle then sit in a class room and read all day. As soon as lessons ended she was outside and running or playing hide and seek from nursemaids, It was a one sided game however she grew tired of lectures that she was not acting like a princess and rather like a court Jester.

Cara cared little for what the nurse maids told her, and continued with her games of tormenting them with running away and going places she knew they could not go, like up tall trees and scaling walls. The only people she actually listened to and took there words to heart were her Father and mother, Though she had been asked multiple times to be careful she did listen to them, she was careful and it confused her that no matter how careful she was, her parents worried about her anyway. She had never been seriously hurt in here adventures, although a broken ankle once had kept her grounded for a whole month.

A month she claimed was the most boring month in her entire 8 years of life. She didn’t let the incident stop her in the slightest. As soon as the foot was healed she was once again causing worry and panic attacks for her nurse maids while going up the trees and walls… literally. She now currently wishes to sword play with her father like he does Liam. It looked like it would be fun, and besides there wasn’t much her father and her could do really, she wouldn’t force him to suffer through all the girly things she has to do as her mothers request. Like dancing and etiquette, and painting, The only thing ’girly’ she liked was poetry, it was one thing her mother and her could agree on. Other then that she liked doing boy things. Her brother didn’t know how Lucky he was.

Tragedy almost struck when one day Cara was in her usual spot in a tree enjoying the view when a cat jumped in the branch she was sitting on and made her slip off. She fell a long way down the tree branches cut into her skin and bruised many parts of her body. She was however saved the fatal impact of the ground by a passing guard who happened to be passing at just the right time to catch the young princess.

Cara had been sore for a few days but her pride hurt more, she had never fallen before. She was however quite thankful to the guard who caught her, and he was nice and so very cute looking. Yes the little 8 year old princess was in love, with the young knight.
She found her self blushing whenever he was near and always had a goofy smile one her face. If there had ever been a time she felt like girl it was when he was around.

On the nights she slept she dreamt of them being married when she was older and being King and Queen of a nice Kingdom..

-How I act-

Personality: Iago is very much his father’s son: manipulative, occasionally vain, a bit power-hungry, and bursting with ambition. He does not like admitting it, but if it truly got him where he is (and soon will be if he plays his cards right) then the sorcerer supposes he can live with it. A loner and a user, Iago mostly only allies with people if they will somehow benefit him, or if he can connive and scheme his way to acquire the desired results, but there are always exceptions. Enjoys getting under the skin of people he annoys.

Mostly it’ll determine where Iago feels you stand on his scale of importance. The lower on the totem pole, the worse he is to the given person. And the higher they are within the nobility, the more he attempts to sweeten his words. However, he tends to be rather blunt despite his noble background. That’s what happens when one is secreted away to live with a knight, and a then sorcerer, and spend years of his young life walking amongst the masses.

Despite the great darkness in his heart there is a potential for the occasional spurt of benevolence. There is generally an ulterior motive to his actions, but not always. Those that have his true loyalty are very, very few. Most of said individuals, in fact, are dead: his mother, his mentor, the numerous half-siblings he never had the chance to know... all deceased, but all individuals who would and do have his unwavering, absolute loyalty. Perhaps not quite in the way they would have preferred, but that was Iago’s own choice.

And he’s not afraid to stick to his sinister practices, either.

Usual Mood: One is put in mind of a snake discreetly (or not so discreetly) sizing up his prey before the lethal strike... Eerily calm and calculating; sarcastic and pessimistic towards others.

-History-

Your Story Please?
Tybalt / Iago had known and despised his origins since the moment he could speak and understand the words spoken unto him. Or, at least, despised his father: the Baron Yorick of Danothos. The sorcerer knew not much of his mother, Perdita, save what she looked like and what he’d heard from Tobiah, the knight who took care of him. There was also a musical box he possessed – a trinket belonging to his mother – which the Knight had been able to procure. Iago has always taken excellent care of it, reveling in its eerie tune. A melody of Caraklein, his maternal grandmother’s land of origin, he was told.

The sorcerer is the firstborn son of the Yorick and Perdita, and the only son. However, he was not always named Tybalt. Quite the contrary: his birth name was Tybalt. Perdita had been the wife of Yorick’s brother, Malcom, and suffered many a grief as her brother-in-law secretly conspired to assassinate each child she and Malcom brought into the world. When Malcom suffered a similarly mysterious death, Yorick took Perdita as his wife. Tybalt’s own death having been faked by Tobiah whilst he was at the tender age of five had been the final straw for Perdita. Believing herself to have been cursed, she had committed suicide between the choices of being the cause of her children’s murders or allowing it to end with her. The reason for Tybalt’s falsified death lay solely with Yorick for he had, not unlike his nieces and nephews, ordered his own son killed. The Baron did not want to give up the power he controlled, or to share it. Even with his own son.

Tobiah had been ordered to murder many a child, which he had at first done under Yorick’s manipulations. At first, it was that the child was malformed and would suffer in life. Then, it was an excuse involving dark witchcraft. Finally, Yorick had to threaten Tobiah with the loss of his own family if he didn’t do as asked. Only Tybalt’s death had been faked, to the noble Knight’s great regret. Iago never cared once about his siblings, thankful that Tobiah had decided to look into a way to spare him from the same fate, and changed his name. The boy was now dubbed Iago.

And so it passed that Tobiah became as a stepfather and mentor to Iago, allowing him to live with his wife and children. Living was nowhere near as lavish but given his options Iago would much rather have remained alive then reveal to his father that he was not dead. It would betray Tobiah beyond words, something the lad could not do. He owed his life to Tobiah and knew it, and in return was more than happy to learn all he could about the Baron they both despised, and the skills he would need in hopes to overthrow Yorick’s reign of bloodshed and death. From the knight he learned the basics in swordsmanship and archery, finding himself far more proficient at the latter. From his foster mother he learned his letters and furthered his experience in the mannerisms of speech amongst the nobility. Despite the physical exercise each day, only a slight musculature lined his young body but was still in need of filling out.

Tragedy struck when Iago turned twelve... for on his birthday a company of Yorick’s ‘brainwashed’ troops arrived at Tobiah’s doorstep. Somehow, the Baron had learned that ‘Tybalt’ had not been killed and thus this made Tobiah guilty of treason and conspiracy. As such, the knights were to search the household. Iago had changed much since the last portrait of him had been painted, and upon being given a different name was for the most part well-protected from detection. However, when the troops found nothing they declared the whole family was to perish. There was a scuffle, in which Tobiah, his wife Isabel, and their child Gideon all perished. Iago’s stepsister, Rosemary, and Iago himself managed to get out of the house before it was razed to the ground.

Rosemary and Iago, having nowhere else to go, lived out on the streets and out of plain sight of those whom so much as looked like they might be in cahoots with Yorick. Rosemary, at the age of fourteen, was protective of her little step-brother. Together they bought what they had to and stole what they could. Iago taught Rosemary what little he’d managed to pick up from Tobiah about survival entirely on one’s own means. A year into living as urchins, Rosemary sought other methods. Iago at the time was too young to understand his sister had become a prostitute or why. Rosemary eventually married one of her clients, a wealthy merchant named Otto, but only after having her first child by an unknown father. Otto was not kind enough to take Iago in as well, and thus the fourteen year old went his separate way. The boy had a mission to fulfill regardless but Iago swore that, once became a sorcerer, he ensure that unpleasant things befell the man regardless if Rosemary loved the wealthy merchant or not.

Knowing, thanks to Tobiah’s inside information, that Baron Yorick would want to do anything to escape death, fifteen-year-old Iago attempted to find a dark sorcerer to apprentice to. Unfortunately, they were either too few and far between or simply did not wish to reveal themselves to an orphaned boy seeking their skill. Now more than ever did Iago wish to avenge the people he considered family that Yorick had practically stolen from him.

The lad’s wish for a Dark Master Sorcerer came rather unexpectedly one day when said sorcerer, a man named Melanthios, saved him from being punished for stealing from a street vendor. The boy had been very close to losing his hand that day. Oddly, the sorcerer had referred to him like an apprentice and paid for the nearly-stolen goods in addition to his own, then led him away by the arm. Immediately afterward they talked: the old sorcerer was in need of an apprentice, and Iago was in need of learning. Thus, by an interesting twist of fate, the boy was once again on his way toward his goal.

For a decade, Iago stayed under the old sorcerer’s tutelage. He followed where the man tread, read the passages meant for him to read, and did the deeds ordered of him no matter how foul or how simple. The boy had a natural calling for the darker arcane arts, it seemed. When the day finally came for Iago to begin his life as a solo-operating sorcerer, Melanthios declared one more test: for the now-twenty-five-year-old man to defeat and kill him in magical combat. It was not an easy battle, for the sorcerer refused to give his apprentice the victory upon a golden platter. Iago suffered non-fatal wounds, but managed to use the quickly-fading life essence from his mentor to heal himself. In the very last few seconds of Melanthios’ life, the old sorcerer marked his apprentice’s right forearm with a permanent series of markings, as though they’d been carved into his flesh and packed with pigment so as to be readable. It spirals from wrist to elbow, and despite all of Iago’s skills he has yet to decipher the text, not having the slightest idea where to begin. He keeps his right forearm covered with a sleeve of black cloth.

While he was more than ready to go to Yorick with his abilities, Iago did not want to seem too hasty. There would need to be further reason for the old Baron, now closing in around his eighties in years, to call upon him. So, for the next five years, Iago meanders around the outskirts and throughout Danothos twisting the land, creatures, and flora found there into new and monstrous forms. A pack of decomposing yet still-‘living’ wolves is just one of the dark threats under Iago’s control. Trees writhe and gnarl into distinctly ominous shapes, and evils spring up that do not sleep nor show mercy. It is only mere weeks after Iago’s thirtieth birthday that Yorick calls for a sorcerer willing to clear up the sudden evils that plague his land, and for assistance with ‘a special project’. Iago is already aware this ‘special project’ involves prolonging the Baron’s life.

It had been all too easy to cast an illusion upon the lands and call off the evils tormenting it, which Iago did upon being asked and made it seems as though it took a fortnight. Yorick was immensely impressed, and posed to the sorcerer his next request. Iago was tempted to stall and hope the man keeled over and died within the week, but when no such thing happened he made a sinister pact with the Baron: Iago agrees to keep Yorick alive and in good health, adding in a very slow de-aging enchantment, in exchange for being the Baron’s personal advisor, an amount of wealth per each year the man was kept alive, and a sacrifice of a small phial of blood also annually. However, the only way for Iago to properly do his magic, the Baron needed to take a very powerful potion which merely simulated death. Like a fool led to the guillotine – in Iago’s mind, at least – the Baron complied.

Without the Baron’s immediate knowledge, Iago made certain he was to be an indispensable member of Yorick’s court. He wove an additional spell that made it so, should anything happen to him either directly or indirectly by Yorick or anyone under his command or payroll, that Yorick would rapidly age and die within the year of Iago’s own untimely demise. Oddly, Iago has never been forced to play that card.

Part of Iago’s new duties as advisor to the Baron included being an ambassador of sorts to the nearby locations and their governments. One such a place happened to be the dukedom of Atticus, controlled by Duke Posol Vander-Gilt and his wife, Duchess Elektra. When the sorcerer arrived, he was surprised to learn that the Duke was throwing a ball in his honor. Etiquette of the nobility and his own disposition allowed his surprise to be schooled behind a mask of pleasant acceptance. However, from time to time he could have sworn the Duke’s wife was watching him a bit too closely. It was... slightly unnerving. Was she able to detect there was more to him than met the eye?

It hadn’t been long before Iago knew why he was being watched so carefully: as it turned out, Elektra had been able to sense the dark magic around him and decided to confront him about it. As she did not seem a threat to him, Iago divulged what the Duchess requested... not to mention he as a Baron’s advisor, and even as the Baron’s son, was outranked by her. It was... rather an interesting conversation. Little did Iago realize he was rather attracted to the Duchess.

Their next meeting was met with small displays of magic, though the meaning of ‘small’ was rather debatable. Elektra’s talents had improved since their last meeting, and had certainly caught Iago’s attention. He was rather impressed with the feats she had managed thus far in her magical learning.

It came as a half-surprise to learn of news that the Duke of Atticus had died some time down the line, and once again Yorick sent Iago as his ambassador and representative. Iago was more than happy to take his leave, not to pay respect to the Duke but rather to see Elektra again. He couldn’t quite place the feelings stirred in him by the woman, but did not heed his heart. Upon arriving for the Duke’s funeral, he was met by none other than the woman he’d intended to seek, who told him in painstaking detail what had transpired. How her husband had been dispatched, and the man’s son, too. “How supremely unfortunate,” were Iago’s exact words, though beneath the expected solemnity of courtliness was a veiled sarcasm in addition to a genuine... Iago wasn’t sure what that feeling was. When he departed the dukedom to return to his barony, the sorcerer left with the knowledge that the government would recognize Elektra as Duchess in her own right. And that she had a few plans for the lands gained through her marriage and subsequent widowing, but not many were privy to those changes.

Later that year, Iago would send Elektra a letter via a specially trained crow, and they communicated back and forth in this manner whenever circumstances allowed.

At present, Iago is now aged fifty-five years, having served the Baron for one-quarter of a century as advisor and personal magician. Despite the immense hatred for the man that is his birth father, Iago has served him well. But, this is all a well-disguised ruse for what was yet to come.

The Baron would meet his end... Iago’s family, his mentors, all those he’d lost would be avenged.

However, he would have to work quickly... for according to letters Iago spied from King Alastair of Lancaster, Yorick was to be wed to another young girl... one Princess Desdemona. Despite the evil that lurked in his heart from the Dark Magic he practiced and clung to, he couldn’t let another fall into his father’s clutches again.

It must end...

Projected History (What Shall Soon Be)

Iago, noticing that young Princess Desdemona is in love with her personal guard Will, attempts to use this to his advantage and finally bring about the death of his father, Baron Yorick, by trapping the old man’s soul within a gem inlaid into the hilt of a sword. Iago eventually gives this sword, enshrouded with magical energy at its blade, to the guard William after extracting the gem.

The castle of Danothos will fall... and the Tower of Namazar, to be built by Iago under magical means, shall rise in its place from the rubble.

Name: Baron Yorick of Danothos
Age: about 106 but looks a few decades younger (explained in History)
Gender: Male
Profession: Baron... and a greedy old fart. xD

Discription Baron Yorick is a man of middling height and build, with long white hair pulled into a loose tail but raven eyebrows. His complexion is between pale and a light tan, despite enjoyment of a few outdoorsy activities. He has a few scars from battles, but they are often covered by the fine clothes he wears. The man’s eyes are like twin drops of obsidian: dark and eerily calculating.

Personality: Baron Yorick is an arrogant, vain, and greedy soul. He would say or do almost anything to weasel his way out of trouble, and thoroughly believes that everything has a price someone is willing to pay. He likes to find out “what makes people tick” and exploit this knowledge to his own benefit, bending people to his will. Beauty is only skin deep, as the saying goes, and it couldn’t be any more apt in regarding Yorick’s personality: beneath the polished exterior he presents at court there lies a vulgar, conniving, withered old man kept alive by magic.

History:
Baron Yorick’s lineage comes from a line of nobles that are completely unrelated to the Baron before his father’s reign. While he is of noble blood, it was by other means that his father had gained ownership of the Danothos Barony. By whatever means that power was acquired, given Yorick’s present method of gains one can be certain that it was by very clandestine methods.

Yorick is the youngest son of Baron Urien and Baroness Lilian. His eldest brother was named Malcom. Since the age of five, Yorick had a talent for manipulating people. It manifested in the way he was able to bend other children in his father’s court, his elder brother, and even his own parents to his will. Not much is known about Yorick’s earliest years, and he is not one to divulge such a thing in public or private.

At the age of sixteen, Yorick devised a plot to allow him to claim the barony for his own. It was complicated and would be tricky to execute, but he knew he would have a helping hand in then-eighteen-year-old Malcom. Together they conspired, Yorick leading Malcom on by making him think that Yorick only played a small role in the plot and most of it had been Malcom’s ideas. With nightshade in excess to Baron Urien’s wine, it didn’t take long for the poison to work. To cover their tracks, they planted evidence for anyone investigating the murder to find, suspect, and convict their mother, Lilian, of the crime. She was soon beheaded for the murder, and Malcom granted governance over the barony.

It was shortly after Malcom took control of the barony that he married Perdita, who was half Carakleinian and half Danothosian. Yorick was personally enamored with her, almost to the point of obsession. However, after the last murder committed on castle grounds, he saw it fit to wait a number of years before conspiring for another kill. Meanwhile, Malcom and Perdita attempted to start a family. They had several children over the course of their thirty-year-marriage, but none seemed to live to adulthood. Magic-fearing masses were certain a magician placed a curse upon the family. Others claimed it was a spy or assassin attempting to sabotage the family’s bloodline. Little did they realize that it was in fact Yorick and his men that dispatched of each male heir. The female ones weren’t bothered with unless word reached him that the child would be named the next ruler. Then, it was Malcom’s turn to fall. Instead of poison, Yorick went for a sporting accident. With all the death he’d wrought to his brother and sister-in-law, it was clear that murder was fast becoming one of his proficiencies. Within the year Yorick persuaded and married Perdita, his brother’s widow. It was a very happy occasion in the man’s life, having attained a life-long ambition of power and having married the girl he was obsessed with since he first seen her at the age of fifteen.

Three years into the marriage, Yorick and Perdita were blessed with a son. Perdita had wanted to name the boy Malcom, after her first husband. Yorick personally resented this, feeling that she had only married him out of likeness to his brother, and insisted the boy be named Tybalt. However, then he got to thinking about the kid’s future. How the child would be the one with the power someday, if not prematurely bumping him off as he had his father. So, when the child reached 5 years of age, Yorick ordered one of his knights to do away with the child. The knight was named Tobiah and, fed up with Yorick’s killing spree, decided to go to a wizard of good and find a way to fake the child’s death; planning to steal away the child after funerary services. Perdita, overwhelmed by grief and feeling it is she who is cursed because all of her children thus far have died by some strange reason or another, committed suicide by hanging. Yorick refused to marry again, though whether out of grief or some other reason is difficult to tell.

It was only through another knight he had manipulated that Yorick heard of Tobiah’s treachery some ten years later. He had found out via a note the knight had given him to give to the wizard who helped him fake the boy’s death. Needless to say, the knight was rewarded for the find and troops sent out looking for Tobiah and his family, who had since gone into hiding within their own city. No one knew the boy was given a new identity. Two years later the company of knights found Tobiah and his family, and torched the house. However, there was no Tybalt, son of Yorick; just Gideon and another boy around Tybalt’s would-be age, named Iago. Yorick assumed the child might have been lost due to disease, and thought no more about his son.

He ruled the barony as a king for many years thereafter, worrying about his mortality and what would happen to his power after his death. Obviously he wouldn’t have that same authority in the hereafter, if it indeed existed. At the age of 81, and in fair but not superb health he had his advisors send out word that he was in need of a magician with abilities able to restore him to his former grandeur. He didn’t really care much about the lands surrounding his castle, and decided to put someone in charge of finding someone to take care of that.

It was shortly thereafter that he met Iago, a dark sorcerer that managed to impress him with the cleaning up of Danothos’s lands within a fortnight. The Baron grew impatient with the sorcerer for taking his sweet time in finding a solution to his problem, until Iago finally presented an option. It would require a rather considerable fee, as well as a personal sacrifice of blood and risking death itself by taking a very powerful potion. A risk he was eventually glad for: not only was he in even better shape physically and medically, but he even looked a great deal younger. Still distinguished of age, but markedly younger. He kept the annual payments upheld as promised, and Iago complied obligingly. Yorick wondered just how long the wizard could keep up the spellwork in place, to which Iago replied indefinitely, so long as Iago himself remained alive. Considering the man was quite young... Yorick would likely have a very long reign, indeed.

Twenty-five years passed since Iago’s employment and promotion to the status of Yorick’s chief advisor. Feeling younger than he’d ever felt in quite some time, Yorick decided it was high time to take another wife. So long as Yorick lived, any sons he begot could not take the throne, and Iago would surely advise him via his own sorcery in the event his children planned an uprising.

His sights were set on the eighteen-year-old Princess Desdemona of Lancaster. Immediately, he made arrangements with King Alastair of the kingdom, and now has only a matter of months until the wedding.

-How I act-

Personality: Wodon was a man with a light manner about him. He saw good in any situation and constantly enjoyed making others see the same lightness. Both cheerful and careless in his manner, he was a good man, but a less than perfect king. His youth was full of victories both in battle and personally, but as the years went by, he became less and less attentive to his kingly duties.
He enjoyed to drink, and when drunk, he was without inhibitions and quite witless, many times embarrassing himself and those around him. The only times Wodon was ever strict and serious was in times of peril or whenever his wife, finally snapped, which was usually in private.
With his sons and grandchildren, Wodon was fun-loving and always did his best to spend as much time as possible with them. He equally loved both of his sons and showed his affection by hunting, riding and laughing with them.
His wife often frustrated him, her seemed lack of emotion at many times angering or confusing him. He deeply loved her and believed she loved him despite her only showing it briefly during their nights and not long before his death.
Due to his wife's "coldness" Wodon sought comfort in the arms of other women, knowing it would break his wife's heart, and therefore being extremely secretive.

Usual Mood: Happy

-History-

Your Story Please?

Wodon was the oldest prince, with his three brothers, Elchanan, Alexander, and Oberon, being younger than him by 5, 8 and 9 years. His parents both adored him, and spoiled him greatly from an early age. Loved more than his other brothers, Wodon grew up with a pride for his position and a joy that came from believing the world revolved around his whims.

His mother died when he was nine years of age, while giving birth to his sister, Rose. Young Oberon soon followed his mother in death and Wodon's perfect world fell into ruin. His father, hardened after his wife's death and distanced himself from his surviving children and quickly remarried a duchess to provide comfort for himself.

Hating his step-mother and the rift she had created between him and his father, Wodon turned his wraith on his younger siblings, especially Elchanan. A terrible bully in his childhood, Wodon began to finally grow out of his blame shifting in his early teens.
Diligently applying himself to his studies, he sought to make peace with Elchanan, but failed miserably.

The king died but a week from Wodon's 19th birthday and the strong willed young man immediately seized the crown, despite Alranian tradition of waiting a month after the funeral.
Loved by his people for his cut in taxes and great public celebrations, Wodon set out to expand Alrania's borders with a new military campaign.
Due to his great involvement in fighting, his advisors urged him to marry, fearful that their young ambitious king would succumb to death on the field. But he delayed, desiring to secure his kingdom before he began a family, passionate to a fault about being there for his children as his father failed.

Finally at the age of 25, Wodon sought a bride. Although many dainty portraits were dispatched for his pleasure and letters from doting parents and sweating kings assailed his door night and day...Wodon was displeased with all save the delicate beauty of the Mystenian princess, Varlia. Her dark black hair, pale face and gentle smile urged him to claim her as his own and within four months it was established that they would marry. Although proxy was urged forward by his advisors, Wodon desired his marriage to be only in the flesh and therefore refused the idea of another standing in his place or hers.
Sadly, Varlia became terribly ill with a fever and died only days later. Grief-striken, having loved the princess, Wodon wept that day and night upon hearing the news.

Terrified that Alranian troops might march into Mystenia in the near future, as they had many others, Jahan III, Varlia's father begged to make a peace pact of any other means. It was then arranged that Wodon would marry the younger princess of Mystenia, Eevastasa. The marriage was quickly arranged through proxy and the young princess was sent posthaste to Alrania.

Disappointment was the first emotion Wodon felt upon seeing his bride. Unlike her sister, Eevastasa was tiny and small, with a frigid air about her that froze his blood. Although beautiful, with her pale golden tresses, fathomless blue eyes and delicate smile, Wodon could only foresee boredom in their union. Upon their marriage, Wodon was 26 years of age, while Eevastasa was barely 15. To his joy and slight bewilderment, she changed her name only days after their union to Genevieve, having everything of Mystenia burnt about her and replaced with Alranian attire and item.

His new queen was a wonderful surprise to Wodon. Her forever patience and gentle manner helped complete his rather hot-tempered and loud self, even while her small hand could stay him faster than any knight. It was not long into their marriage that he found himself deeply in love with her and completely woven within her subtle charms.

Oddly enough he found his first action as a king with a queen was war. Carefully planned, Genevieve's tactical plans for assaulting Mystenia were perfected to the point that Wodon could almost feel her deep desire to destroy her homeland. This grieved him, since he loved his own home and he often begged her to tell him what caused such hatred for her land. Genevieve would always wave him away, either saying he was jesting with her or that she was tired.

While the war against Mystenia raged, Wodon was blessed with a healthy baby boy. Proudly holding his son aloft in his large hands, Wodon swore to never abandon the infant, naming him Oberon, after his own little brother whose life had been all to short. Mystenia was conquered after but two years of battle and he presented its ownership to Genevieve as a testament of his undying love for her. It still sent a shock down his spine however, when she requested her brother, the king's death and by her own hand. It was a vivid picture that remained with him, of his tiny pale wife removing her own brother's head with a heavy axe.

All went well upon their return to Alrania. It confounded him to no end that Genevieve did not desire to hold or be with her son, but he finally was able to stop pestering her about it. Three years after Oberon's joyous birth, Alrania was blessed again with another prince. Theseus was named after a childhood friend of Wodon's who had always laughed and lifted his spirits.

His sword was replaced with children's toys and his war shouts with laughter as he spent every spare moment with his two sons. There was nothing to small to explain to them, nothing to large to break apart for them and nothing he did not do for them. Nurses and guards alike marveled that one man could lavish such affection and joy on his children, especially while his wife preferred to watch in shadow or the occasional picnic.

When Oberon reached a certain age, he began to look forward to grandchildren, constantly but happily suggesting marriage to his son. At Oberon's marriage to Princess Delyth, Wodon drank to their health and heartily welcomed the young woman into his family. When only a short time later, the princess was lost in childbirth, it was with great sorrow that Wodon attempted to console his son, reminded of his own lost love.

Gareth, was the apple of Wodon's eye, a little Oberon. He would set the young boy on his knee during mealtimes and play in any manner, enjoying the time spent. However, he took the young boy's death at eight much better than his wife did. Her refusal to admit the child was dead actually helped him move past the death.

Oberon's second marriage to Cassandra was met as joyfully as his first marriage. He told his new daughter-in-law that he happily viewed her as a daughter he had never had and never left her with any doubt of his fatherly affection for her and their union. Alas, he lied...

He had a daughter. After Theseus' birth, Genevieve no longer desired children, much to Wodon's disappointment, for he had desired a daughter as well as sons. But the true reason for his bringing other women into his bed, was that his dear wife was at many times indifferent to his desires. He knew that she did love him and that by his other women he was destroying her trust in him, but selfishness undid him and he took at least three mistresses during the time of his life, after marrying Genevieve.

One, whose name was not known, gave him a daughter, whose sweet face he was forbidden to see by his fear of breaking Genevieve's heart. Sending the woman and child away in the dead of night, he bore their lost as his curse and vowed not to defile his marriage bed any longer.

Oberon's second marriage produced a healthy baby girl, who the couple named Cara. Wodon delighted in playing with her much as he had with Gareth, feeding her at the table, playing horse back, singing with her and many other playful games.

During a battle with a revolting part of the kingdom, Wodon was glanced with an arrow. Thinking it harmless he continued in battle and in triumph returned to the palace. Met with his wife's kisses, he found himself fatigued and called the healers, thinking he had need of medicine. The healer found that the arrow had been poisoned with a deadly herb. Giving the king but a year to live, the healer left him in peace.

Wodon suffered in long tormented agony, aging in two months what he would have in twenty years. He passed the crown to his eldest son and lay in bed afterward for many days, unable to bear the great pain. But his physical was as nothing compared to the agony of watching his beloved wife endure his suffering. Her already pale face was to the point that he believed she felt his own pain. It was during this time that he deeply felt his wife's love for him as she spent every waking moment with him, trying in despair to lessen his pain.

Finally he begged to end his life, to lift his burden from his wife and children. Genevieve's tears and nearly hysterical pleading forced him to remain in life, but he soon set himself to die before the poison wasted him to his bones, for he knew Genevieve would allow herself to die along with him. Having a trusted servant bring him hemlock mixed with another herb and put in wine, Wodon said his farewells to his family, in the subtle means of a final meal and prepared himself to die.

But instead of the servant bringing his wine, Genevieve entered and took up the cup from him to give to Wodon. Grieved that she would help him die, Wodon sipped the scarlet liquid from the goblet and stopped her from kissing him afterwards.
"I have loved another and by her been given a daughter..." he whispered as darkness crept at his heart. He gently kissed Genevieve's hand and left the world with those final bitter words.

Thankfully he died before he heard his wife's agonized scream and attempt to kill herself... in peace of mind he died, leaving his griefs and sins to stain the very one he had sought to save from heart break.

-Love-

Crushes: none
Mates/Spouse:none
Status: Available

(at the end of her life, she will be able to lay a single egg to continue her species, even without a mate)

-How I act-

Personality: Alida can be playful and mischievous, very akin to a feline. Her sharp teeth belie her gentle manner and she often despairs at her general lack of acceptance by the race of men, whom she has become very fond of. Although she refuses to allow herself to be captured and used for battle, she assists those in need.
Her age allows her to be patient, as she has spent many years in trying situations and with trying individuals. Friendly to most and witty, she enjoys a good verbal spar and a nice cozy debate.
Lakes and ponds are her usual resting places, where she plays as if she was a dragon youngling.
Angered, Alida can be the deadliest of enemies, her sharp claws, spiked wings, dagger teeth and bellowing gush of water something worthy of combat.
She has a deep love and respect for the nature about her and will swiftly punish anyone/thing that dares destroy it for nothing save the desire to crush.
Having raised Lani from a young age, she views her as a sister/daughter. Not overly protective, but watchful, rest assured that if any one dared to harm her little wren, Alida's wraith would be kindled.

Usual Mood: Content with the occasional flicker of playfulness

-History-

Your Story Please?
Alida hatched from her egg within the tangled wilds of an unnamed wood. Her parents hid her egg to ensure that she would not be captured by humans and fled, whatever fate ending their lives so they were not to see their young one again.
She raised herself, which is not rare for dragon young, feasting on the wildlife of the wood. Being a water elemental dragon and not a fire elemental, Alida found that she had potential to do more than destroy and sought ways to help those weaker animals around her, despite their lack of gratitude.
At the rough age of 20 summers, Alida left her wood by the great swoop of her wings and allowed the wind to carry her to Aston, where she first saw the race of men.
At first she viewed the strange two legged creatures as the animals in the wood and played with them and eating the occasional when hungry. She soon learned that unlike the witless creatures that had before been her game, men fought back against being eaten and within a month, she tired of their attacks.
Wintering in the neighbouring country, she began to separate in her mind beast and man. Formulating that dragons and men had more in common than she had had with the wild beasts, Alida ceased eating and attacking men for sport.
For five hundred years, Alida fought on the side of men, against those who would enslave and destroy. Although many times attacked by the side she fought on, she with ease deflected their arrows and drenched their fiery pitch balls.
But after a particularly fierce battle, she got her fill of blood and killing and stopped fighting in battles.
Spending the next millennium preying on the slavers of Corrask, to free their captives and cripple their business, Alida passed the time chewing on the occasional unfortunate slaver and pulling arrows from her thick skin.
Until, her path crossed with that of a young orphan about to be enslaved by a terribly nasty band. Although her saved people usually ran away, the young child thanked her and finding out she was without parents, Alida literally took her under her wing, to help raise her.
Teaching Lani to read and write by patient scratching in the dirt, Alida soon began to delve further into the world's teachings, telling her all about history, philosophy, magic, language etc.
A particular event was when Lani performed magic for the first time. Sleepily watching Lani as she climbed a tree, Alida closed her eyes. Her eyes flew open as Lani fell from the tree, but to her great delight, Lani used her first bit of air elemental magic to slow her fall, saving her life. Applauding, Alida began to assist Lani in practicing by "launching" her.
Currently, Alida lives quite contently beside a lake in the Northern most part of Alrania. She is feared/respected by the villages around, who claim her as their protector.

-How I act-

Personality: Lani is best described as a strong-willed and independent young woman. When her mind is made up, only she, a most trusted friend, or another fleeting idea to distract her may change her plans. She can be rather spontaneous, though she is generally optimistic about the future and has a warm demeanor once you get to know her. Trust does not always come easily though she does have a streak of naivety within her. The reason for bursts of distrust of people is due to her past of being raised in an orphanage and then nearly being sold into slavery, and it is this wavering between lack of trust and too much that tends to lead to her misjudging people. Overall, though, she is a very playful (and occasionally mischievous) person that practically lives to have fun and be free.

Speaking of freedom, Lani strives to defend those that would be oppressed even though she’s not terribly strong. The only way she would condone mistreatment would be if she felt it was deserved. Slavers, for example, deserve to live in the oppression and fear their captives must endure... but the people they accumulate as slaves from off the roads do not. She believes people should live as they want to live, and follows this belief fully. Thus, she is a bit of a drifter, but Lani loves her lifestyle and wouldn’t trade her sister-figure (a dragon named Alida) for anything – not finery nor jewels could seduce her to do so, though a man she actually held feelings for might. That man has yet to come before her, however. Unless the man would wait for or come with her and her draconic companion: Lani’s idea of the surely perfect husband.

Lani is easily excited and cannot tolerate idleness for too long a time. When she is bored she is liable to become reckless for the thrill of the experience. Though she can read and write, she would rather demonstrate her worth through action, ‘action’ being anything from a rush of physical energy to gentle yet erratic brushstrokes upon a canvas or slab of wood. She tends to go with the flow and trust her impulses, no matter how whimsical.

Yet, when not on the go, Lani does read a bit here and there when there are such materials about, and enjoys writing and sketching in her journal with charcoal sticks. She loves listening to the soothing sound of the water, and the quiet whispers of the wind. The tranquility and beauty of nature, as well as the creatures in it, make up her paradise. You will not find her for long taking space in a permanent dwelling, for she prefers the semi-nomadic life of living with Alida, the dragon who rescued her from what would’ve been a terrible fate involving eternal imprisonment and servitude. A cage to trap and suffocate her, just like the orphanage...

Lani loves nicknames – adoring and treasuring forever the day Alida decided to dub her ‘Wren’ – and does not bother with formalities. Of course, considering her and Alida’s self-sufficient lifestyle it’s really no wonder. With her companion’s teachings she could address people in a courtly manner if she so desired. She also adores thunderstorms, dancing (especially barefoot and in the rain!), and music. Her favorite foods are wild berries of any kind, mushroom and sage stew (cooked over campfire of course), and roast waterfowl or fish. She enjoys debates, often getting into them with words and whole-body gestures to get her points across.

If you have Lani’s trust, you can rest assured it will be an unwavering faith and friendship for life. While she might not have much of coin, she does possess much heart and will give of it what she can. Generosity is well within her spectrum. When she does not get the feeling she needs to be watchful of you, she can be very kind and polite. Lani has a particular soft spot for children, and a reasonable amount of patience. She considers herself as free as the wind, even before she learned she had great latent talent as an air elemental. Just as the wind waits for no one and goes where it wills, so too is this Lani’s behavior (though she gladly waits for Alida).

Not exceedingly often are the days one sees Lani in a state of anger, for she is determined to not let anything bother her, but they still happen. On her best days she is quite an optimist. However, not every day is peachy keen for the woman: she is living out in the wild, where predators seeking prey go on the prowl. True, Alida is there to protect her, but Lani’s independence and knowledge that the dragon may not always be there for her keeps her senses well-attuned for possible kinks in their ‘plans’ for the day. She does not feel the need to worry about a lot of things ‘normal’ people do, and sometimes this extremely carefree attitude can lead to careless mistakes. Particularly when bored: if she is bored for too long a daredevil-ish facet to her personality takes over to compensate for the monotony.

Usual Mood: Spontaneous and whimsical, taking things one day at a time, with an occasional philosophical quirk; playful, mischievous, and independent.

-History-

Your Story Please? Lani was born to an artisan named Caradoc, and a seamstress named Lilith. They lived within the kingdom of Cerathuar, in the town of Telruan upon the kingdom’s southern-most edge. It was a peaceful place to live, despite the dangers that resided in the outskirts and neighboring kingdoms to the southeast. Lani doesn’t remember much of her earliest days, and what she does recall, she would rather not:

Her father drafted into war of sorts against a large gang of bandits just outside Telruan’s borders...

Seeing her father brought back to Telruan among the wounded... minus half an arm...

Her father’s pale, expired form upon an infirmary bed, his death having been of a wound infection...

Lilith dying shortly afterward due to illness, though some claim she died of a broken heart...

And then there was the orphanage, also known as Hell On Earth by Lani and a group of other orphans. The constable that had Lilith’s body taken care of deemed Lani not old enough to live on her own at the tender age of six years and thus scooted her to the nearest orphanage. It was a horrible place: filthy, short of decently fresh food, and the personnel were some of the cruelest women Lani had ever known. Part of it was because of her two-toned eyes... for which many ostracized her for as it was deemed ‘unnatural’ and/or a phenomenon they dubbed ‘devil’s eyes’. She was shuffled from foster home to the orphanage and then back to the foster home half a dozen times over the next year and a half. Thanks to a few well-chosen friends, Lani managed to escape the place before she turned eight and headed for the main road out of Telruan.

It didn’t take long before the poor child became lost in the wood, with no means of survival in the climate she found herself in. No weapons or supplies were on her person aside from a few pieces of fruit and beef jerky-type dried meat. Being illiterate, she had no idea where she was heading to or how to make or read a map of what little she did know. She managed to construct a crude shelter that was little more than a pile of long fallen branches and fallen leaves, as autumn was in full swing, after many footsteps that seemed to go in circles but she couldn’t be certain.

Luck happened to be on her side when morning came. To her fright, a gypsy caravaner happened upon her in an attempt to gather kindling for a campfire. Though both had startled each other thoroughly, after a brief exchange of words Lani was asked to carry the kindling and join the caravan. She considered it fair exchange considering the gypsy had nearly killed her, thinking her either easy prey or clever predator.

No longer lost, Lani felt she truly belonged with these people... true, they were still a bit apprehensive about her strange eyes, but they did not shun her for such a difference like some had in Telruan. Lani traveled with the caravan for approximately two and a half years, gathering a small wardrobe, experience in living in the wild, a few luxurious items such as jewelry, and the occasional coin for earning her keep. Most times she was paid in needed items, which suited her just fine. Her anklet is in fact made of some of the coins she earned, and eventually her necklace was beaded with coins, too.

Disaster struck shortly merely days after celebrating her tenth birthday: a group of slavers the land of Corrask assaulted the caravan as they were passing through the slavers’ camp entirely by accident. Well, an accident on the caravan’s part, anyway. The caravan’s personnel fought valiantly, though many were killed in the raid. The Corrask slavers took the caravan’s goods as their own and made slaves of the remaining people, Lani to be one of them. While they had captured the young child, they had yet to break her spirit. They tried to make her their own personal slave and venue of ‘entertainment’ because eyes were appealingly different from the rest but wouldn’t likely sell for a good price because of such a difference. Attempting to make Lani a slave turned out to be a mistake for their part...

In the instant of time between a slaver raising their hand to strike the child and the actual blow, a large blue dragon (or at least Lani thought it was a large dragon) swooped down upon the camp and laid waste to the caravan’s oppressors, freeing those taken prisoner. Once free, the caravan salvaged what they could of their wagons and took the Corrask horses to replace their own that were killed in the battle and used for meat. The caravaner that had suggested Lani join them had been cut down in battle, and the remaining members of the caravan felt that it was Lani who had cursed them to be taken prisoner. After all, the slavers had taken a keen interest in the child. Thus, they refused to allow her to travel with them and fled.

And now she was at the mercy of the dragon, sincerely hoping that she would not be the creature’s next meal. On the one hand, the girl was scared out of her wits as she’d never seen a dragon in person. Yet, at the same time, she felt indebted to the creature that had saved her from a hell comparable to being kept at the orphanage. Realizing shortly thereafter that the dragon would not harm her, Lani thanked and then tentatively followed her. When asked, she admitted she had not parents or a place to call home. To her great astonishment, the dragon – named Alida – suggested Lani live with her.

Alida’s abode happened to be a clearing in a wood, near a lake, in the kingdom of Alrania. It was just south of her home-kingdom of Cerathuar. Lani personally loved the outdoors, both since her childhood and upon experiencing the lifestyle of those running the caravan, and thus was perfectly fine with the arrangement. Alida taught her many skills in the following years, including but not limited to: reading, writing, history, philosophy, music, and languages of the world.

One day while climbing a tree, young Lani had slipped and fallen from the great height, only to discover she had a natural, recently-latent talent for the air elemental magics. Alida had been most impressed with the feat, but Lani at first had no idea what she had done. Thus, magic was added to Lani’s syllabus. Alida would often help her practice by launching the woman into the air.

At present, Lani still lives with Alida at Dorpha Lake, in the northern portion of Alrania. Occasionally she wanders, never without Alida’s prior knowledge/approval, but always returns to Dorpha Lake. She finds it great that her sister/mother figure is respected amongst the nearby villages, though finds it slightly amusing that they also fear the dragon.

((Magic Users))
Magic Specialty: Air elemental magic... meaning she can create gusts of wind; tornadoes, hurricanes, and storms; manipulate the air for all sorts of purposes, and can fly but only for very short distances as flight tires her greatly. Dabbles in illusions, dream interpretation, and divinatory methods.

Favorite Spell: [incantation pending] – summons a storm of varying intensity depending on what Lani desires. Mostly it’s a mild thunderstorm (with and strangely without rain) with lightning. She loves storms and dancing in the rain, hence this spell is mostly saved for recreation rather than attack.

Weakness:
- Learns/understands easier with spoken or hands-on examples than reading despite being literate
- Though her abilities allow her to eavesdrop at great distances, her sense of smell is significantly lessened from what it should be.
- Is not very strong; not necessarily weak, just not strong. Has inclination for speed over strength.
- Has developed an allergy to flax seeds (used to love them)
- Tends to misjudge how much trust to place in people.
- Too carefree
- Alida, for Lani wouldn't know what to do in the event something happened to her rescuer/adoptive sister/adoptive mother

Skills:
- Educated; knows of history about the world, philosophy, magic, language (reading and writing as well), music, etc. Though, given her commoner origins, she tends to play dumb when necessary
- Musically inclined: plays ocarina and lute, as well as sings; helps her occasional job as a minstrel or street musician
- Storytelling, though is certain Alida is far better at this than she.
- is quite savvy in living outdoors; comes with being raised by a dragon for a greater portion of her 17 years. This would include hunting/trapping/fishing, cooking, identifying edible and medicinal plants, making rope, etc.
- Basic swordsmanship, though her skill is not quite as developed as some.
- Multi-lingual: Alida taught her many languages of the world, including beast-tongues
- Has an eye for art and the dexterous hands to match (making various arts & crafts)
- Having fun (yes, she considers knowing how to have fun a skill... and is very much aware that there are limitless possibilities... dancing, games, music, flirting, and the list goes on!)

Items:
* off-the-shoulder blouse that bears the midriff made of cotton; spring green in color.
* Billowy tiered skirt, accumulated by collecting various skirts. Goes down to ankles. Multi-colored
* Hooded hunter green travel cloak
* 2 gold and 7 silver bangles; 4 bangles (3 silver, 1 gold) on right, 5 (4 silver, 1 gold) on left. 4 were taken from slavers, 2 were acquired by earning her keep amongst the caravan; the other 3 have unknown sources.
* beaded anklet with chain and toe ring; small coins are also woven into the beading, and make a pleasant jingling noise when she walks
* earrings; right side has 3 – one at lobe, with the other two on the outer edge of ear (helix) half-way and at the top; Only one adorns the left earlobe.
* navel piercing
* simple necklace bearing a slice of agate; given to her by her mother, Lilith. Reflects light very well. A few sparse coins are woven into the cord of the necklace, to make it more decorative.
* Wavy dagger or shortsword (taken from slavers; hidden amongst her skirts)
* plain leather-bound diary
* charcoal stick(s) for writing or drawing, made from burnt willow or linden twigs
* transverse clay ocarina (depicted on left) with leather neck strap
* rough handmade lute – picture reference
* pouch containing a lump of flint and a steel horseshoe, used to light fires
* coinpurse attached to waistband of skirts, though it is often empty or full of other things besides coinage.

Has a deadly temper should anyone ever cross him, he doesn’t forgive easily if ever, and has great hatred to his brother that goes un digested since Woden’s death and confession.

In love Elchanan can be gentle, yet also quite passionate and protective of those he may love. To someone who hurt that person will pay dearly with his or her life with no mercy.

Usual Mood: Cold, emotionless, strangely calm.

-History-

Your Story Please? (At least a paragraph or two about your characters past till now )

Elchanan was the second born son to Elric the II and Aderyn, he wasn’t really considered the favourite child, no that was his older brothers position as eldest son. He was a jealous of the attention his older brother got from their parents, That was just what It was Jealousy…

Soon it wasn’t so bad when is little brother Alexander was born, he basically he was not alone in his family any more and he got used to it, accepting that was the way things were, the older brother was always treated better.

Deep down he still loved his brother, but that would soon end when his mother died giving birth to his younger sister Rose.

After his mothers death his father changed, Woden his brother did as well, his father hardened even toward Woden. Then things really started to fall apart after his youngest brother died, Oberon… and there father remarried.

Woden became merciless with his tormenting of him. He wondered as a kid what he had done to deserve his brothers anger. Granted he had played jokes on him and was often making attempts to embarrass his brother but never had he done it so…. Malice. After all he had lost their mother and brother to, if he should be mad at anyone it should have been Rose. It was her birth that killed there mother after all. But no it was always him, his was his brothers release valve and after a while he stared getting very tired of it and resentful. He didn’t deserve it, he didn’t kill his Mother and younger brother. So he had it in his head his brother hated him, and in turn a similar hate built up in his heart.

When his brother went back to his studies, Elchanan distanced him self from the ‘family’ going so much as to sneak out for days at a time an went to the university for his education and learned a number of skills over the years in isolation.

Once his schooling was over he went back to the castle, when at which time his brother tried to ask for forgiveness, which was something he was not willing to give, his brother made him a court adviser in a effort the soften him up, he took the position because it was in a position of power, although it didn’t help his relationship with his brother.

Then his brother married a beautiful young princess, personally he thought a bit to young at the time, but she was pretty little thing and powerful at that. He was sent as his brothers proxy when they married, he rather got along with the young princess soon to be Queen. She was quiet and rather reserved for someone so young, something that surprised him, he had originally thought he would be babysitting the girl. He was glad he was very wrong.

He was shocked when his brother declared war in the neighbouring kingdom of Mystenia, the family of there new young queen. Queen Genevieve.

One thing was he respected the new young queen, she may had been young but she didn’t act it, in fact she acted more mature then most adults, and he admired her for it.

He stayed at a distance and glared at his brother in jealously, even more when it was found out the young Queen was pregnant with there first child. But he did his job and did it well. Offering his best advice to his insufferable older brother, and making sure he treated the queen right.

Did he trust his brother with his newly married bride? Not a bit… he knew his brother could be cruel when the moment suited him the most. However he forced him self to lay off it would do him no good to fight his brother over his own wife.

As the years past Elchanan watched at the sideline, and almost became comfortable and trusted his brother to a point that he really did love his wife and relaxed slightly.

One day he went into town, it was his 35th birthday those of which he would celebrate alone… or so he thought. He met a young women that night, and it had seemed by the fates will that that night he spend the night with that woman. After the night was over and dawn broke Elchanan left determined to believe that nothing happened that night.

And he nearly succeeded in pushing the memory out of his mind as if it ever happened, However every birthday he would remember, it was a day he would hate him self, he didn’t celebrate at all after that.

Ever again…..

He remained in the back ground for years, watched his nephew’s marry and have there own children. He watched them morn for the deaths of the princess, and later prince. Genevieve had worried him greatly during those times she took the deaths badly.

Then After a few years his nephew remarried, she was a quiet, delicate little thing, he didn’t put much faith in Oberon to keep her for long either. He was proved wrong when the young princess survived the birth of there first child, a girl who they named Cara.

Wodon of course was a loving grandfather, just as he had been a father, and from what he thought, a husband as well. Then not long after the birth of Prince Liam, his brother was hit by a poison arrow, and he wasn’t given long to live.

Elchanan didn’t really know what to feel about his brothers impending death, although he worried for Genevieve immensely, with the way she took her grandsons death, how would she take her beloved kings?

He found out just how bad a few mouths later when is dear brother took his own life and had Genevieve witness it. He worried about her intensely even more when she tried to take her own life, but then he received word that Wodon had betrayed his queen…

He had never hated his brother so much before that moment, he cursed his brothers name for be a royal Idiot, and that he hoped his spirit rotted.

When the kingdom of Alrania mourned the death of King Wodon he drank to it, if only the knew the kind of man Wodon was… a bully, and a cheater, didn’t deserve a the delicate queen he had.

Elchanan lived in the shadows after that, watching Genevieve when he could and hoped less pain for her in the future as it was what she deserved at the very least.

-How I act-

Personality: In general, Kelatholamekirmakanagb, or Loki as he usually prefers the race of men to call him, is a wary, skeptical, and pessimistic dragon. He is generally suspicious of the adults of the race of men to the point of paranoia, deeming the young of the species to be far more trustworthy until they too reach adulthood. However, that does not mean he is entirely stiff. Loki enjoys a playful streak and can be a bit of a trickster when he feels motivated to be so.

The obvious signs and features of a dragon with a love of combat hide a gentle nature that only those closest to Loki have managed to see. Coming from a military background, Loki can sometimes be a bit gruffer than he truly is. At the same time, there is also this mystical quality that manifests from time to time. This is the old Loki from before life circumstances forever changed him. Don’t expect him to give even those on friendly terms with him a ride for such a thing would be exceptionally rare. Not unheard of, but rare even without considering that he has not many friends in the first place. Loki has also vowed not to be so foolish as to allow himself to be captured and used for battle a second time around. He would rather die than be made yet another sovereign’s vicious guard dragon, and prefers to stay as far away as he can from castles.

An avid fan of riddles and puzzles, do not be surprised if Loki sets you with one. If it is not a riddle then it would be a topic for debate, as Loki loves a good spar of any kind be it verbal, physical, or anything in between. He tends to be rather competitive, though if it’s with a friend it’s all in good fun. Patience has come to him with the passing of centuries, but tolerance has been a fickle friend at best. Some days find him most tolerable to those who would try his temper, whilst others discover that the dragon has little congeniality for such. Which leads to another problem: at times, Loki comes off as indifferent. It might not always be the case, but an air of indifference as to the fate of men or those determined not to heed his advice enshrouds him.

Loki’s favorite places involve caves and waterfalls, though rocky cliffs and wide open valleys are also favored. However, having hatched to the environment of a cave, he will always have a strong fondness for any subterranean structure. While he doesn’t necessarily play, Loki does engage in recreational activities that to the outside observer look as play. Although... one may have a hard time getting him to admit that he is in fact playing. In his opinion a dragon does not merely play, but rather pursues “activities of recreation”.

Those that enrage the creature have every right to hide in the deepest hole they can find, however not even that would save them for long. Loki’s temper is not known for its softness. He is a staunch defender of those he feels he can save from their oppression, such as devouring the occasional road bandit or slaver camp. Between the claws, teeth, and ability to spew either acid or ice, one would not be wise to make Loki their enemy.

Loki doesn’t grieve the loss of his mate and younglings quite as much as he had when he first lost them, having come to terms with their deaths. Grief, in his eyes, is a weakness since it was his grief that led him to be captured by men. Yet on the other hand, he is aware that it is a natural emotion. Negative depressive moods are things Loki doesn’t know how to handle very well, and often masks them behind strong defenses.

Overall Loki has the potential to be a good friend so long as one gives him a chance... or two... after getting to know him, and vice versa. Kindness and generosity wouldn’t be out of his grasp upon truly trusting another, though such individuals are very few at present as he lives completely on his own seeking adventure. He tends to feel as though the alterations done to him by man are shameful, and thus doesn’t usually expect too much from those whom he becomes acquainted with. A vulnerable interior surrounded by a tough outer shell.

Usual Mood: Wary and alert, but calm and pensive, with the occasional spurt of playfulness

-History-

Your Story Please? Kelatholamekirmakanagb, best known by the name Loki, was hatched from an egg belonging to Fire and Ice elemental parents. However, like most dragon young, he hatched and greeted the world alone, raising himself into adulthood.

Before his egg was laid, the Fire and Ice elemental dragons that were his parents made sure to secret their offspring away into a cave, keeping the egg warm with inextinguishable fire from the mother, and an impenetrable barrier of ice blocking the mouth of the cave. Though the fire that kept him warm through the centuries of early development was inextinguishable, it did require maintenance. And thus, a family belonging to the race of men were charged with the egg’s care and protection.

The very last of the line of protectors for the egg became ruler of the land, and a power-hungry one at that. He and his family deemed the tending of a dragon egg to be menial labor at best, and refused to follow the family oath. Instead, he entrusted this duty to a lowly servant, and the servant did as bade him without complaint. However, thoughts of what would happen once the dragon youngling hatched often flooded his mind.

Upon hatching, the young dragon found himself alone amidst flame and ice, as well as mortal remains and supplies. Seeing he was the sole occupant of the cave, Kelatholamekirmakanagb – as he’d named himself – took up the useable equipment and left his shelter by melting the ice with a combination of fire and the strength of tailbeats upon the frigid surface. Once free he left the safety of his cave, only returning sporadically for too much did he enjoy the thrill of adventure.

Despite the fact that “Loki” was a dragon of mild disposition, he tended to slay any and all persons found within his cavernous domain. However, he did give the unfortunate soul a chance to prove their worth by posing them a riddle. Correct answers earned one’s life, but those that couldn’t answer became a snack for the dragon. Almost none disturbed what Loki considered the sanctity of his humble abode, though one such person happened to be a servant to the nearby castle’s king. Sadly, while the servant tended to his unhatched form dutifully, the riddle Loki set him was a complex one... giving the dragon due cause by his own code to devour the man whose purpose he was not certain. What hadn’t helped was their meeting had been a hostile one: the mortal having attempted to attack Loki. Or, at least, Loki had perceived it as an attack. Later that year, he discovered he rather liked playing war with the humans. Deliberately he sought lands many leagues away from his cave to terrorize. He found the challenge of fighting them much more interesting than the chase of wild beasts through the woods. After a few years of “warring” with the two-legged creatures he grew tired of their tactics, and backed off.

At the age of 300 winters, Kelatholamekirmakanagb settled down somewhat with a mate. Her name was Nekaneibolyanilam, sometimes called Eir, and was a dragon of the air element. Upon Loki’s half-millennia to walk the earth the pair were blessed with two eggs which would hatch in a couple of centuries. During the time between laid and hatched, both parents took turns watching over their young instead of leaving them to fend for themselves. Loki and Eir raised their hatchlings, son Akakioskelaekirma (Ioskela) and daughter Enyathaguthfalang (Enya), together. They were the happiest family of dragons that could coexist without desiring to tear each other apart. The most likely reason for this was because the family could roam in their separate directions and return when they wished.

Tragedy struck some 600 years later when in short succession both Iaoskela and Enya were killed by a band of dragonslayers, their hides, horns, and teeth taken as trophies. Their dying cries had carried across the wind to Eir and Loki, but by the time they reached their young the band had moved onward to find the next dragon to line their purses. With heavy hearts they burned the carcasses of their young, allowing their ashes to scatter to the four winds in peace. Then, they split up to avenge their children’s deaths at the hands of the murderous lot. Little did they realize that Eir was soon to share the same fate as her young. Loki heard her roar and had rushed to the scene, killing most of the dragon slayers and getting equally wounded in the process. However, the damage had been done: Eir was dealt a fatal blow and died a slow, painful death. Loki curled against his mate as she died so she wouldn’t fade from the world alone.

Interrogating one of the slayers still left alive Loki learned that they hailed from the kingdom of Vabakandin, the place where Loki himself originated. Thus enraged upon being stripped of the only family he’d ever known, Loki flew back to the place of his birth to make war upon the people that had been charged with the killing of his kin. A poorly thought out plan it was, too, for his injuries prevented him from flying very far without rest.

Perhaps that was why, after a very short tussle, the mortals managed to subdue the ferocity that was an enraged dragon that just lost everything that he held dear. The king, a descendant of the one who abandoned him to the servant, deemed a dragon as just the weapon they needed to conquer their foes. Thus he was given a new life, albeit a cursed life. One in which Loki was treated as little more than a beast of burden for Vabakandin’s military. Sorcerers cast spells upon him and forced potions down his gaping maw.

Slowly, Loki changed. His orange-blue scales slowly changed to green, his features morphed to take on new characteristics, and most disturbingly he no longer became able to breathe fire, but rather spat acid. He could still expel ice without incident, but the acid often scorched his own throat as much as it melted nearly anything it came in contact with. It was a tortuously slow and painful transformation. The men even began calling him by an unfamiliar name: Kazgoritha. ‘The Changed One,’ if he understood the Vabakandin tongue as well as he believed.

One day, when a sleeping draught was waning, Loki noticed the chains binding him to his place at the top balcony of the castle had been carelessly left unlocked and unattended. Distrustful eyes gazed about for signs of ambush, and upon finding none freed himself from the bonds of man. It took a great deal more effort to shake off the potions they’d pumped into him, but upon regaining sense attacked any and all who were armed and headed directly for him. It is said vengeance is sweet and best served cold; Loki discovered the truth in both of these statements that day. The dragon particularly took his time in killing the king who would have him as little more than a pet... something that Loki greatly detested.

There were still survivors in Vabakandin, particularly the women, children, and non-combative men. Some of the palace guards that preferred to flee moreso than attack were also left untouched. The remnant of the public assembled, one guard stood up to declare that it was he who left the bonds unsecured so that Loki might escape. To show his wary gratitude Loki named the guard the new king of Vabakandin, for there were none alive related to the previous king. With a few words of wisdom to the newly-crowned, Loki then left the kingdom forever in search of a new home and new beginning.

In the present time, Loki has taken up residence in Yteragm, a cave many leagues east of Dorpha Lake. Within this cave Loki finds shelter and a place to hoard his recent collection of baubles and treasures of all sorts. Though he tends to wander, Loki knows his treasure is relatively safe from intruders for there are traps designed for to ensnare the race of men should they attempt to steal from him his material possessions just as his family had been stolen from him.

Personality: (Short Paragragh on characters personality)
Loud, outspoken, rough and cheerful, he is a man easily liked or easily hated, with very few in between. A most interesting conversationalist, he enjoys talking a great deal and will engage almost anyone in said conversation, regardless of class, gender or age.

History:
Oldest son of his father, he grew up strong of mind and rather athletic, enjoying outdoors and life in general.
After his father's death, Arnulf inherited his father's palace and lands.
At the age of 20, he married Lady Didrika. It was not a love match, but need kept them close. The noble couple had three children together, a girl first and then two boys. Brunonia died at the young age of seven much to her parent's sadness and young Arnulf followed. Left with only one of their three children after ten years of marriage, Arnulf and Didrika's affection, slight as it was faded into dust. The youngest son, young Govert grew spoiled and unmanageable as his childhood passed and Arnulf soon lost his love for the greedy boy.
On Govert's twentieth birthday, Arnulf and Didrika announced that their son's bride would be the lovely Dame Ermengarde, much to his son's deep disdain. The marriage went poorly as Govert ignored his young bride after their wedding night and the sweet thing soon caught a chill from awaiting his return and died within a fortnight of their wedding.
Govert was stricken by the maiden's death, blaming himself and his manners changed greatly as he sought peace from the shrines of the gods.
Arnulf journeyed to the capital to serve the king not long after Govert's wife's death and while away received word that Didrika had died from a mild stroke.
Although he wept at her loss, he was not truly hurt or saddened, as he had never truly loved her. Almost immediately after, he immersed himself in the king's court.
Due to his first failed marriage, he did not desire marriage for the second time and thus ignored unattached women in general, instead enjoying the favour and beds of those already taken by less than pleasant men.
Word reached him five years after Didrika's death that his son Govert had remarried and that he had become a grandfather. Although he was begged by his son to come bless the child, Arnulf refused using matters of state as an excuse.
Crisis struck his simple life when King Jahan, in an attempt to rid himself of a widowed daughter, demanded Arnulf marry the little thing. The very idea of marrying a woman young enough to be his daughter irked him terribly as he hated even the idea of marrying a woman his own age.
Although the princess was lovely to behold and he was charmed by her intelligence and gentle manner, nothing pleased him more than being spared marriage to her when the elder princess died and his intended left to marry King Wodon of Alrania.
He continued to serve in the court until King Wodon attacked Mystenia and was spared his life after its conquering by becoming an ambassador for the new regent, ironically his-would-have-been bride, the Queen Genevieve.
Time passes, as it always does and Arnulf softened in his old age, becoming more bent to the idea of sharing his life with someone. He became a doting grandfather to his nine grandchildren and their children and many could say he changed greatly due to their laughing influence.
Hearing sadly of King Wodon's passing, but lifting his wine in salute to the new regent of Alrania, Arnulf began to wonder if the now Dowager Queen Genevieve was as lonely as he was.

-How I act-

Personality: Cheerful, semi-confident, tries to see the bright side of things. She is very down to earth and practical but is also a dreamer blessed with a vivid imagination and is hopelessly romantic at heart. She is always willing to help a friend in need and can be quick to their defense, perhaps to fault as she tends to overstep her boundaries at times in order to prove a point. She doesn't take criticism very well and can be a bit sensitive, although she tries her best to look past the harsh realities in order to see the good of it. She has made it a point, with the assistance of her parents, to be well read and educated and can not stand the thought of being thought of as ignorant.

Usual Mood: Lilli is usually happy most of the time but is very susceptible to bouts of depression ever since the death of her husband and others.

-History-

(UPDATED!! 3/21)

Liliane "Lilli" Atwood was the first born child of The Baron and Baroness James and Maryanne Atwood. James lived a humble life working the family farm in his early years and eventually inherited it after the death of his father. He met Maryanne, the daughter of a neighboring farm, as a child and they grew up as friends, eventually becoming quite fond of each other.

During his early thirties, a minor famine struck the area, many farms fell but James’ was one of the few that survived and was the most prosperous, providing much of the food for villages. It was because of his farm that many did not starve as might have had he not worked to make sure the farm did not succumb to the famine. Because of this, he was seen as a sort of savior to the region and was greatly rewarded with wealth and nobility. James took this opportunity to seek Maryanne’s hand now that he knew he could provide for her. The offer was accepted by both her family as well as her, for she loved him before he acquired his wealth. As a wedding gift for his new wife, he built her a large manor a few acres from the original farm, which would soon be known as Atwood Manor. The farm continued to prosper and bring in wealth and he became of the main suppliers of food throughout the region, making him quite prominent among the nobles.

James and Maryanne were married for nearly ten years before finally conceiving their first child. Though a bit disappointed in his first born being a daughter, James quickly got over his disappointment and loved his daughter dearly, doting upon her but keeping a firm hand as well. This, unfortunately, caused little Lilli to have a sense of entitlement when it came to attention from her parents. When Lilli was 4 years old, her brother James II was born and her father was beside himself with joy. Lilli on the other hand, was immediately jealous of her new sibling, for she had grown quite accustomed to being doted upon by her parents. Many times she wished she was an only child once more but the more she spent with him and their mother, the more she grew to love him, for he seemed to become exceptionally happy in her presence. Although her jealousy and animosity towards him faded, it did not except her from the typical child behavior of occasionally blaming him for the usual trouble children cause. Once when she was six, and he two, she tried to blame him for dressing himself up in their mother’s jewels and cosmetics, although it was quite obvious it was Lilli who had decided he needed to look “pretty”.

As the years passed, Lilli and little James grew incredibly close to one another, each favoring each other as a playmate rather than other children within their social ranking. Lilli felt she could share her deepest secrets with him and he in turn would defend her honor against troublesome children, or at least made an attempt to, being four years younger. The both shared the same tutors and encouraged each other to keep their studies up, determined they both would one day become valued ambassadors of Alrania. By the time they reach their early teens, Lilli and James were already quite knowledgeable in many subjects, though Lilli favored history and James politics. In was also around this time when Lilli began to become quite fond of gardens, therefore Maryanne had a small garden built adjacent to the manor, which grew under Lilli’s care. James became increasingly interested in sword fighting and James I took great enjoyment in teaching his son the skill. Their lives continued peacefully this way for only a few more years.

The autumn of Lilli’s 17th year, James II had contracted a slight fever, which all had believe to be benign. However, as days progressed, he became increasingly weak and his fever grew, unable to keep and food down and would slip in and out of consciousness. Lilli, despite protests from her parents and physicians, stayed by his side, un afraid of the possibility of contracting whatever illness he possessed. But despite every attempt to heal him, James II died a week and a day after the first signs of fever and the young age of 13. Though the entire family was devastated by his loss, Lilli’s father took it the hardest, himself nearly taking ill with grief, but soon recovered. Lilli too was overcome with the loss, feeling somehow responsible for his death by her jealousy of him as a child. It also pained to when her father seemed to growing distant from her, causing her to believe that he too shared a bit in her belief.

The next year, the family was invited to the capitol for a celebration ball. Much prominent families attended and the hope of finding Lilli a possible suitor was plainly on her parent’s minds. Lilli, while not plainly objecting to the notion, was not at all focused on the subject and merely attended because of duty as well as the hopes of intelligent conversation. The latter of which she indeed found with a young knight of the king. His name was Sir Martin Aschuill, a man in his med-twenties and exceptionally handsome, in Lilli’s mind. They both became quite intrigued with the other and it was not long before love blossomed between them. Though she was only 18, he saw her as mature for her age and exceedingly charming and intelligent, not to mention beautiful. He too hailed from a semi-noble family and was a kind man, so the match was deemed favorable and her parents approved greatly. After a lengthy courting, they married nearly 7 months later and Lilli continued to live with her parents while Martin continued with his knightly duties within the castle. Though sometimes weeks would go by before Martin was allowed leave to be with his wife, they enjoyed all the time they had together, some as short as a day, while his time with her would be a long as nearly a month.

Lilli had been enjoying a day in town at Carpatus when she had inadvertently slipped off her horse, cutting her hand upon the saddle in an attempt to stay aloft. With no escort and amid great embarrassment, Lilli quickly sought out the apothecary for her injury, minor as it was. It was then Lilli met Arianna Terris, the owner of the apothecary, who she became quite close to and they remained good friends. She eventually introduced her to Martin and though Ari was uncertain of him at the time, Martin too soon regarded her as a good friend, despite her commoner station. Lilli soon came to see Ari almost as a sister, and cared for her greatly in times of need, particularly in one instance when Ari had come to her for help after a terrible ordeal with the resident mortician. Lilli made sure that the man paid for his crime and Ari kept from further harm from him or anyone else.

Lilli’s life with Martin was indeed happy, though they both soon felt the need to add to their family. Hence, six months into their marriage, Lilli became with-child and both were overcome with happiness as was her family. Lilli was ever the excited expectant mother, as was Maryanne, who spared no expense for a nursery for the future child. All went as expected when one day near the end of her fourth month, while enjoying her garden, Lilli, felt sudden pain from her womb and was quickly followed by mass amounts of blood. Full of fear, she sent for Arianna with hope that her friend would be able to save her child with some miracle elixir, though deep down she knew all hope was gone. The miscarriage plunged her into a short, but deep depression. Martin too, was full of regret for having not been here when his wife needed him. They tried many times after for more children, but to no avail. Though the sorrow of her lost child and the many failings for another still weighed heavily upon her, Lilli eventually regained her usual happy outlook and believed to be on the path to a more happy future, certain that all will be right.

A month shy of their two year anniversary, Martin was on duty escorting Dowager Queen Genevieve and the young Princess Cara when the convoy was attacked by a dragon and nearly all left dead, including Martin. Distraught by the news, as well as the suppressed feeling of loss, Lilli fell into such a state of despair, she contemplated taking her own life, convinced it was she who brought death upon those she loves and could not bear for any other to die because of her. For days she remained in a reclusive, near-madness state, aided only by Arianna, who was fearful for her friend and made her a special sleeping draft to aid in Lilli’s grief-induced insomnia and refusal of food. That night she dreamed of her Martin and their lost child. In her dream he held their the lost babe in his arms and assured her that she was not to blame for all the death in her life and to carry on with her life in happiness and confidence that there will be no more suffering of those dear to her. Upon waking, she sobbed bitterly for the rest of the night and vowed never to blame herself for their deaths again.

After recovering from her ordeal, Lilli decided it was now up to her to take her future into her own hands, something quite uncommon for a woman, though she was still under the charge of her parents. It also unnerved her that with Martin gone and her father aging greatly, there was no one to protect the family…or Ari. After a great deal of self-doubt, she made the decision to learn the skills of the sword. Her mother however insisted that she abandon the thought and do something more typical of her status. She suggested becoming a member of the Court within the castle, as perhaps a Lady’s Maid to one of the royal family. With Lilli’s charm and knowledge, she could even council the Queen in minor matters of the land. While the prospect of putting her intellectual skills to use indeed intrigued her, Lilli still felt it necessary to learn to protect herself and felt strongly that Arianna needed protection as well, should the mortician ever return for her and their unborn child. Reluctant at first, she agreed but insisted upon her fighting skills taking priority. Her parents relented and while Lilli focused on finding a suitable teacher, they would make the arrangements necessary for her place within the castle.

The troubling question was now: who would teach her the sword?...

-How I act-

Personality:
Arianna is friendly and overall a nice person, she has a feisty attitude that sometimes gets her into trouble. She is quite emotional even more so now that she is expecting her first child. She is remarkably stubborn and doesn’t take any nonsense from anyone. She does have a sense of humour though, and can take a joke as long as it doesn't over step a line. She can also dish out anything that does over step a line. She also hates being underestimated, which happens more and more now that she is having a child. She will also stand up for those that won't for them selves.

While around those she love or cares for Arianna is very protective, and friendly. Though not initially shy by nature she can be bashful around people you give really nice complements. Also has a matter of honour about her, she will never let a good deed done to her go unpaid for, often will insist of returning the favour should she ever find the chance.

Usual Mood: Friendly, with a touch of feistiness.

-History-

Your Story Please? Arianna was born a orphan, her father died before she was born and her mother died in child birth. Her mothers sister sold her into slavery as she was unable to support her new born weak niece.

She was raised by the "mother" of the lords house of staff until she was old enough to work. The Lord of the house disliked her yet loved her. He always turned to her little body to work for him. However when she disappointed him his punishments were brutal. On one such night she was sick and was unable to complete all her chores on time he had her back slashed and sent her to the small cold shelter out side. Feeling ill and injured she decides to run away, thinking she can survive on her own where no one can use her and hurt her again.

With little food and no knowledge on herbal medicine at the age of 11 she is in the forest Very ill and suffering from infection. With no care she would have most certainly died. She stumbled into the lair of a dragon, he seemed surprised to see her all alone, Though despite her fear of him she answers his questions as honestly as she can.. Though she fears he won't believe her, after all why would a dragon obviously hunted by slayers believe a human girl? In her mind anyway. However he allows her to rest in his cave and for that she is forever grateful.

She eventually recovers from her infection and illness thanks to the Dragons unexpected kindness and commits her self to one day repay him, How she didn't know how at the time, but until then she knew she was forever in his debt.

That time soon came when she asked Loki why he was paranoid of Slayers, in her eyes he was invincible and no man could harm him. After several tries at asking him he finally answered and told her what happened to his family. She felt considerable amount of anger towards her kind at the story and from that point even though she never lost faith in her adoptive dragon father she swore to keep the Slayers away form her Beloved and trusted "father". Despite Loki's worries and dislike about her being around the Slayers, even if it is to trick them and led them away from him. She continues to do it for she wouldn't be able to handle it if those monsters in her eyes harmed her dragon father anymore then they already had.

Her happiest memory was when Loki made her a enchanted mirror so that she would be able to contact him should she need to. It was made to be a necklace and it was beautiful in her opinion. She feared it being stolen should she ever be in a human village and she decided to put a binding spell on it. So she learns a spell to make sure no one could hold it but her and Loki.

She continued to ward off the slayers form Loki's and hers home until she was 17 years of age. It was this day when she spotted a Slayers group roam to close to them that she discovered the hard way there target had been changed. To her, well leading them away from Loki's territory one of them knocked her over the head disorienting her and allowing them to bind her and carry her off to the human village.

While in the village a spell was placed on her, a tracking spell, meaning if she were to ever go to Loki she would be leading the slayers right to him. She refused to do such a thing and ended up resorting to living in the human city to keep her dragon father Safe. She of course used her mirror to talk with him, but she was very upset bye the separation and misses Loki terribly. She is not happy in her new home in the world of men, She feels she is a prisoner again.

But she eventually adapts to the life with humans and even opens a medical herbs shop to earn herself a living. She even makes friends with a young woman names Lillian and her husband although he happened to be a knight whom she was wary of. She eventually came to trust him to a extant. Another firend she met was Ichabod Payne, a fasinating man if she ever met one, there first encounter, she was going to him about making a lab to make stronger remeadies. When she ended up doing first aid on the poor man when he hurt himself. She found him if anything cute and firendly, later a high respect for him, as she discovered he was a ingenious inventor. She also met the resident mortician, whom she found slightly creepy yet a bit curious and interesting. His name was Stephen.... she didn't really know how it happened she went to his morgue to deliver his medical herbs. One thing led to another, even though she wasn't at all willing to have the final result be done, but to her shame it happened.

After running away distraught to her friend Lillian she cried and told her what happened. Not long after she found out Stephen was taken away in irons by the authorities, and she was well prepared to move on with her life. However... after mouths of feeling ill and missing her monthly cycle she discovered she was with child. More scared then she ever had been before she sought comfort from the only one you ever made her feel safe... Loki.

She called for him on her seashell mirror just to hear his voice would help and tell him she was with child and alone. To say it out loud she could only weep and wish she could be with Loki again.

After her break down and pouring her broken heart out to Loki over the mirror she did what she usually did and made the best of what she could do. She of course told her friend Lillian she was with child, and she was going to raise it her self.

At 5 months Arianna was doing well when tragedy struck again Lillian's husband was killed and she goes to comfort her friend... hoping she would be of some help. Even though she isn't much for how to comfort someone.

Name: Count Markku Rhaerithdru Frichadarnya (Alranian Name: Menalaus Fersen)
Age: 55
Gender: Male
Profession: Count of Kjolochard, Caraklein Ambassador to Alrania
Description Typical Carakleinian, equipped with dark hair and pale skin. However, the years of voyages between Caraklein have provided with a slightly darker, more tanned complexion, as well as a stronger tolerance in regards to sunlight and such. He stands at about six feet with a build that is neither scrawny nor muscular, and also has dark grey eyes.

Picture:
Approved Characters 0000047421_20080318122626

Personality: Generally, Fersen is a reserved, calculating fellow. He takes his job as Ambassador for Caraklen very seriously, always looking to serve Caraklein's best interests. He is first and foremost a Courtier, and tends to hide his emotions, as he sees no purpose in revealing something that can be no more than a nuisance, to the point where he feels as though he has lost his own identity. Despite the masks he hides behind out of duty and loyalty to his country, Fersen feels much more than he admits, and will ever admit to.

History: Markku Rhaerithdru Ficharnya was born the youngest of three sons to Count Ghaban Lyrothrak Ficharnya and his wife Countess Radsaytia Kielon. Given his birth order, young Markku never thought he would amount to much more other than perhaps a Holy Man, or perhaps a Military Officer, and as a result slacked in education, and was rather spoiled by his parents, particularly his Mother. However, when his eldest brother Ragnarok perished during the war with Secoelt, and his second brother Seufryn took ill and died from the plague, Markku was forced to break free from spoiled boyhood and fill in his brother's shoes. From that moment on, he became first and foremost an heir to Kjolochard, and a servant to Caraklein.

His days were filled with learning the skills of being a Count, as well as vital skills in the art of being an Ambassador, from his father, and by firsthand experience, as Count Ficharnya made it a point to bring his son with him to each voyage, taking advantage of the time given, using it as an apprenticeship of sorts. The most frequent of voyages was to the land of Alrania where Markku had seemed to take a rather strong liking to. The language and culture was easy for him to adapt and pick up on, giving him a deeper advantage and adding a shine to his reputation. Sure enough, he rose in ranks and favor of the King of Caraklein so by the time Count Ficharnya had passed on, Markku was already known as the first and favoured ambassador and more than capable of carryng out his duties.

At the present day, Markku has become a fulltime Ambassador, leaving all Kjolochard duties into his son's hand. Like his father before him, he teaches his son all the tools of the trade and will eventually bring the boy along with him. However, at the moment he is burdened with new duties and matters tearing at him. Not only is he an Ambassador, constantly dancing around those of higher rank to gain favour and please, but it seems he has also become a Nanny of sorts to the Carakleinian Royals he now serves. A job that becomes more and more tiring by the minute...

-How I act-

Personality: Theseus is seemingly without a care in the world, friendly, and funny. He doesn't have the snobbish aura as other royals and nobels tend to be born with. In fact, it is rather common for him to forgo and abolish any gestures of courtesy, such as bowing. With his own personal pages, servants, and valets, he orders them to forgo any of the bowing, curtseying and what not. He opts for simplicity and equality, viewing those gestures showered upon royals and nobels as unnecessary, to the point where he is often seen as rude and disrespectful by other royals and nobels, particularly those from foreign lands who do not know or agree with Theseus's opinions. Very often, he is also chastised for being overly familiar with those beneath him, such as his servants, as he calls them by their first names, followed by a friendly pat on the shoulder, often encouraging them to call him solely by his first name as well.

Theseus lives for amusement and parties, always looking for an excuse to have a feast or ball, with as much brouhaha as can be mustered. No fiber of this Prince's being is shy, for he is more than happy to be in the spotlight, often dragging those more shy than he along with him. He has all the skills of a courtier, particularly in gambling, drinking and flirting, although all can be seen as weaknesses as much as they can be viewed as his strengths, for he is rather reckless. Not to mention, he has no respect or fondness for the sanctity of marriage, for often he embarks on love affairs, very often with women who are also married.

Very rarely is he ever truly angry (he can only count on one hand exactly how many times he has ever been truly angry), as is patience goes on, seemingly forever. However he certainly as the potential to be, particularly if someone he loves is in danger.

Grief and sorrow are very foreign emotions to him, ones he opts not to explore at all. It is rather hard to explain the effects, but he cannot stand the sight of pain. It is as though he needs to be surrounded with laughter or merriment, otherwise he panics into near suffocation. The sight of tears or unhappiness startles him, causing him to flee from the source of the sorrow and anguish and forcibly lose himself into a world of happiness, however false it may be. One of his skills is empathy, which is part of the reason why he does everything he can to make others happy, as he cannot handle feeling sorrow and grief.

Usual Mood: Lighthearted and energetic, willing to do anything to make someone laugh.

-History-

Theseus was born the second and youngest child of King Wodon and Queen Genevieve. As he was the second son, not as much was expected or demanded of him as his elder brother Oberon, leaving him free to be a free spirit, and rather spoiled child. As a young boy pulling pranks was a favorite past time of his, and his talent for it soon developed as his targets began to include prominent figures such as other Nobles, and visiting Ambassadors. Much to his delight, not only did his brother on occasion participate in his pranks, but his father and mother were almost never angry with him, and on occasion, his father laughed along.

His relationship with his older brother is something that Theseus always treasured, especially as an adult. Unlike many royal children, very rarely did the two ever seriously fight, and were rather close. As a child, Theseus looked up to his older brother, often following him wherever he went, mimicking his actions. Despite his utter lack of athletic talent, he would lightheartedly engage his brother in various competitions, losing each and every name, though always jokingly claiming he allowed his brother to win for the sake of his honor.

As a young teen, he was the epitome and very definition of an amorous teenage boy. He developed a strong fondness for the ladies, his carelessness turning into recklessness. He used every trick in the book to avoid the subject of marriage for as long as possible, though eventually gave in reluctantly for the sake of duty to his country, marry Hilda Zbornack, princess to the land of Oeilvert.

While his fondness for woman was one factor in his refusal to marry, there was a deeper reason that he will never reveal. After seeing the grief his brother went through after his sister-in-law perished, it frightened Theseus. He had always feared sorrow and grief, but after seeing the effects of becoming attached to another, marriage and commitment became a repellent for the Prince. His affairs with women were simple, carefree, and lighthearted. There was no strings attached, or any pain at all. Merely frivolity. No risk whatsoever or emotional bindings.

Plus, there was also the fact that he and Hilda clash rather horrendously, like oil and water. She finds his behavior scandalous, while he views her no more than a nagging gossip, leaving them to be no more than married in name alone.

The deaths of his nephew and Father affected Theseus deeply, though as always, he hid it as best as he could, behind a mask of merriment. Much often this course of action leaves him to look rather selfish as he avoids the funerals entirely, opting to remain aloof until the grief appears to subside for those mourning the loss of loved ones. An action that now, after a good amount of years later, he regrets.

The years went on, a bit more happily, much to his relief. However, much to the overall stability and joy in his life, behind his iron mask of frivolity and carefree-ness, Theseus can't help but feel occasionally depressed, sometimes lonely. Often, he thinks that his life is little more than a charade, leaving him longing for an answer as to his purpose in life.

-Powers-

Crushes: None that she is aware of
Mates/Spouse: None
Status: Open, though considers her role as General of greatest importance.

-How I act-

Personality: Duty and loyalty are two of the most important, yet subtle aspects to Beatrix. Very rarely does she feel the need to respect or show loyalty to anyone, but once someone wins her over, she is bound to them for life, forever at their service. Fealty is a virtue of utmost importance to her as she takes every oath and vow she's ever made seriously, engraving it unto herself mentally and emotionally.

When dealing with enemies (and most people in general) she is emotionless, lacking all compassion or any sense of mercy. With her years of training and experience, she truly believes that she is one of, if not the best swordsman/woman in the land. Her ego and pride is overwhelmingly large, very much to the point where it could very well be her downfall, as she refuses to accept help or surrender, or even admit she is injured.

She has the potential to be likeable, and does have a sense of humour, but it's a very dry, sarcastic one and more often than not she is viewed as rude, not at all comical. Her intense lack of trust adds on a great deal to her distance from people, as she conceals much of her emotions. Very rarely does she trust herself or others to relax around and allow herself to let her guard down. Despite the fact that she cares deeply for her Knights, mourning their loss after each battle, she normally isolates herself, burying herself into her duties, and hiding behind her mask.

Usual Mood: On guard for anything that may occur. Generally as a snobby attitude, looking down on anyone and everyone, viewing herself and her skills superior to all.

-History-

Your Story Please?

Beatrix's earliest memories of her childhood revolve around her life on the streets. She has no memories of her Mother's lullabies, nor her Father's warm embrace. Only the coldness of the air, haunting fear, and the unwavering hunger constantly torturing her from the numerous days and nights of going without food. Despite being only scarcely four and literally the very bottom of the social pyramid, Beatrix already had a strong sense of pride and dignity, opting to risk her life and limbs to pickpocket, instead of roaming around, begging for spare change.

Outside the church of her city, she would stay often hidden by the cloak of night, or cargo carts, waiting for a n opportune moment: a child not much older than her, a lone spinster, the occasional nun, or more often not, an elderly churchgoer. In her mind, those were the easiest targets, as they normally walked alone, were far more easy to take down, especially with their slower reflexes. Pickpocketing the elderly appeared to be a rather method of survival as it helped ensure she would never go hungry, and never got caught. At least, that's what she thought until she crossed paths with Rusa Kishiko .

She had stood waiting outside the church door, concealed by the shadows. She noticed a particularly old man hobble his way into the empty church, instantly smirking at the sight. She knew he was rich, judging by the intricate designs upon his jade and gold cane, and feeble. Possibly the easiest target she would ever encounter. How wrong she was...

Before her hand could even reach for the pouch at his side that she assumed carried a plethora of gold, Rusa had already anticipated her actions, grabbing her and withdrawing his sword (previously concealed in his cane). Panic immediately crossed the five year old, as she momentarily broke from her pride, pleading with him to let her go, that she meant no harm, and she was merely hungry from a few days of going without food. Whether it be luck on Beatrix's side, for once, or compassion and mercy from Rusa, something sparked in the man's cool grey eyes. He offered her a deal that he would house her, feed her, and teach her, in exchange for her service in his shop- an antique store. Desperate to survive, and sorely tempted by the offer, Beatrix readily agreed, accompanying Rusa back to his shop and home.

It had been awkward at first, as Beatrix was not accustomed to authority figures, having been independent for so long, but she soon adjusted. In fact, she soon grew rather comfortable around Rusa and attached to him. She served him for about 2 years before learning of his true identity and past. He was not Rusa Kishiko, mere shopkeeper, but rather Iroh Ohakiko, the ex-General of Kabawak, before the country perished, plagued by a curse said to have been brought on by the Gods themselves, succumbing all to the deadly plague. He had traveled to Alrania as a refugee, seeking not only a better life, but also an apprentice: someone who would carry on all the knowledge he had accumulated, all the skills he had devised and mastered, and ensure that it would not die out: Beatrix. Granted, he had not anticipated a female for the role he wished to be filled, but something in her eyes told the old man she was the one.

At the age of 6, her training began. It started simple, mere cartwheels and flexibility exercise to ensure her speed and defense, gradually adding onto swordsmanship, archery, and hand-on-hand combat, followed by an educational aspect which included a full history of battles fought by Kingdoms, and military strategies, grooming her to be a soldier and challenge the role and standard women were forced to abide by. A task Beatrix enjoyed thoroughly, and practically lived for.

When Iroh finally passed away peacefully in his sleep, Beatrix, at the age of fifteen was already a master of all he had taught her. With the only man she ever considered family gone, leaving her alone once more, Beatrix decided it was time to test her skills, and gain life experience. She had heard whispers of Baron Yorick's lands plagued with monsters, and the plea for volunteers, and decided to give it her best shot, eager to use her skills.

Upon arriving at Danothos, naturally, Beatrix was looked down on solely because she was a woman. Respect was a fool's wish, as the other volunteers either scoffed at her, made cat calls, and, in some instances, even attempted to treat her as a a wench from the whore house. In fact, one rather vivid memory of Beatrix's time in Danothos involved a young soldier not much older than her who, under the impression she was a prostitute, tried to "arrange for her services". Needless to say, that huskily uttered demand was the last words the fool ever spoke, for as soon as they escaped his dirtied, bloodstained, chapped lips, his head was sliced off in one clean stroke, his blood wetting the sand.

Using all her willpower (particularly that which controls her blade), Beatrix eventually, after much time, gained a fair amount of respect, as she proved herself as a soldier, and that she was rather useful. She rose in her ranks, and eventually took the notice of the Baron himself, and found herself serving him as a spy. This contact with the Baron and service helped introduce her into the world of politics, building her ranks and experience even more. This was also the point in which she met the Sorcerer Iago.

Considering he was a man of magic, and she a woman of physical strength and ability, naturally the two had their differences and occasionally clashed. Each believed their methods and practices were best and were firm in their beliefs. However, despite their differences in opinion, they had a rather decent relationship, both serving a man for their own reasons and benefit. There was a good amount of chemistry between the two, as their opposing viewpoints paved the way for quite a few good debates and rather interesting conversations. They weren't what one would call an ally, willing to fight for the other's sake to the death, but decent enough to ensure that they wouldn't turn against the other into a brawl. It was a relationship of convenience, much like that of a trade, particularly when it came to the point where Beatrix asked Iago to create an armor for her, specially designed to be like that of normal fabric, taking normal clothing's shape, but still have the strength and durability of the best war gear one can find. Simply put, they ask favors of each other, and grant payments in place of their debt. Such as the case at the present day, as Beatrix is in debt towards Iago because of the creation of her armor, and therefore grants him the tasks he asks of her.

As part of her spying duties, Beatrix was sent to the land of Elengalad, where she was to serve there, gathering information for the Baron. She carried on, rather bored with the task, but determined to carry it out, nonetheless. However in no way did she end up befriending one of the people there in the process: Princess Delyth.

Having grown up in a man's world, she wasn't used to other females, and was a bit awkward in their prescence. She had been asigned to be Princess Delyth's guard and constant companion, and somehow ended up rather close to her, soon thinking of the Princess as a little sister type of role. Despite the fact that one snap of her fingers, Delyth could have her decapitated. When Delyth became betrothed to Oberon of Alrania, Beatrix, still continuing her spying duties, accompanied her, joining the Alranian army, and serving their ranks, slowly rising.

She had kept a close eye on Oberon, watching him like a hawk to ensure he would do nothing to cause pain, physical or emotional, to Delyth. However, fate appeared to be kind, as Oberon's gentle nature did not waver, as evident by the fact that Delyth was soon pregnant.

Throughout the course of Delyth's pregnancy, Beatrix kept a particularly close eye on her, rather like a Mother Hen, scolding all who appeared to show little caution when moving around the Princess. However, all efforts appeared to be in vain, as tragedy struck, for Princess Delyth died whilst giving birth. Moments before she died, however, Delyth made her a promise Beatrix couldn't and wouldn't ever refuse: protect Oberon and their child to the best of her ability. To this day she still remembers the look and sound of Delyth's fading voice, binding Beatrix to her promise. A promise she holds to this day, standing as the sole reason for remaining in Alrania.

As Beatrix grieved the loss of the Princess, as well as the loss of what was probably her only true friend, she stood firm on her promise, watching the infant just as closely as she had watched him while his mother bore him, while sending her best knights to accompany the King at all times. Most days she would stand guard, watching the innocent child play in his cradle, glancing curiously at the world around him. A few times, when it was just her and the nursemaids with the prince, they would hand the child to her for her to hold. The General would refuse fervently, fearful that her touch that killed many enemies would not e a wise combination when holding an infant. However, with much persuasion from the nursemaids, Beatrix hesitantly agreed, holding the baby gently close against her, often with a smile as she thought of his Mother, thinking she would do anything to have died in Delyth's place so that it would be the Mother and not a General holding the child.

The years seemed to fly and yet drift agonizingly slow for the General, as Gareth grew older. Her watchful eye and protective nature had not wavered in the slightest, as she played the part of both protector and something similar to that of a doting Aunt, often playing with boy when she thought no one aside from the trusted few were watching. She and Oberon had only started teaching the boy how to handle weapons when tragedy struck once more.

It seemed like an average day, with Oberon taking Gareth out for a riding lesson. She broke her gaze from the boy for own single moment, for a reason Beatrix still to this day cannot remember, only to have her gaze torn right back at the boy at the sound of his screams. Her General instincts seemed to fail her as she could no little but stare in horror as the beast took it's fury on the child. It took her a moment to recover as she quickly stuttered otders to her knights to take control of the beast, ordering a chunk of them to hold back Oberon. Perhaps it wasn't the most appreciated or agreeable course of action, but it was what Beatrix had felt was best at the time, for despite her years of experience of the ravages of war and life on the battlefield, nothing could prepare her for the site of the poor boy's slaughtered form. To this day she is still haunted by the images, as well as the guilt over her failure to keep her promise to Delyth.

Over the next three years, Beatrix did what she could for Oberon, which, sadly, was very little, for she knew not how to help a man in the depths of grief. Holding firmly to the shreds of her promise to Delyth, she accompanied him as best as she could, determined to keep him safe so that Delyth's wish would not be in vain.

When Oberon was in midst of being betrothed to another Princess, eventually marrying her, it was only hen that she began to keep her distance. It wasn't that her determination to keep her promise had dwindled. Far from it, in fact. It was merely the circumstances of the situation, as well as the fact she knew not how to regard his new wife, for in her mind, Delyth would always be Oberon's wife and the only Princess she served, just as Gareth would be the only heir her mind and loyalty would honor and recognize. It was nothing personal to either of the new members of the Royal Family, for Beatrix did not intend to be rude or disrespectful as her actions and regard for the others may cause others to perceive her. It was merely the way her mind and sense of valor functioned.

With the years passing and the formation of Oberon's new family, Beatrix became as distant as ever, opting to stay with her men, taking control of the battle plans for Alrania's defense, rather than lingering close and personal with the Royals. She does take her rounds throughout the castle, but leaves as soon as her duty is complete, as the sole reason she stays in Alrania is the whispered, haunting memories of the promise she made Delyth.

Meanwhile, she begins to drabble more and more in other matters that seem to go against her duties in Alrania, causing doubt surrounding where her loyalties truly lie...
